Im thinking about getting a nice set of poker chips and was just wondering what you guys thought about them. I tried to do a search but nothing came up. Do you guys like the Apache chips or the crystal oyster chips better. Also what do you all think about chipco products. Are there any other chips I should look at. Keep in mind I prefer ceramics.

For a little more $ and time, take a look at TenPercenter's Egyptian custom Chipcos. There are about the best design out there and a reorder is planned for January.

I bought a set of the Crystal Oyster chips about 4 months ago and i love them, the reason I chose these over the Apache or the Rounders design was the side spots. The Rounders and Apache chips all have the same side spots on each of the denominations where as the Crystal Oysters are all different and look a little bit better because of this.
Thats my $0.02 hope it helps.

My favorite Chipcos are: Crystal Oyster, Apache, and Desperado. (In no particular order)
Just remember, chipcos dont last as well. They are in thier prime when they are new. AS with clay chips, they get better as you use them.
When Chipcos chip, they stay that way, Clay chips can be blended back in. But you cant beat the graphics and freedom of custom chips of a chipco!

I own a set of the suits chips: http://www.holdempokerchips.com/products.asp?cat=30
I like these because of the design and that they don't have denoms on them so I can change the values depending on the game. If you like chipco chips, all are the same. You just have to pick a design you like. Also checkout the Archetype: http://www.buypokerchips.com/clay-poker-chips-2.htm#arch

And because they are all the same, you have to watch how much you pay for them. Dealers usually pay around .62 per chip. Some pay less, some pay more, so make sure you do your homework because you are paying for the same car with a different paintjob.
The Apache's are really cheap, but I just purchased a set of Desperados for .80 each shipped. BPC's Archetypes are a little pricey, but are a nice looking set.

I have a real decision to make now. I really like the design of the apaches but the edge spots dont stand out much. THe crystal oyster on the other hand have nice edge spots butb the picture doesnt do much for mr. I guess the apache's look more like a real casino chip. Also I found a chip like the chipco' that say marti graw on them. How do they compare to the real casino quality of the chipco's

Volume pricing on Chipco Chips at this time is .64c ea.
But don't forget to add the required 12 trays per 1000 chips at $2 ea.
and by the time they arrive they are not sellable as new product.
Don't forget to add shipping at 23lbs per 1000
Also, a new design will have additional art and setup fees.
Best case scenario figure .68c ea
And they also require prepayment so they tie up your money for 3-5
weeks depending on production schedule. There is a price for that also.
If you don't meet their volume pricing add .08c each chip
If you don't meet their distributor minimum they are $1.10 ea but the
trays are free

MSPatton is correct to take into account the cost of housing the chips.
Whats the Avatar you got MSPatton? Is that a new chip you are selling? Looks great!

Well guys I have decided to go with the Apache style chip that is made by chipco. I lloked at the nevada jacks and they just dont seem to have the same quality as the chipco's. I like the crystal oyster too but I think I would get sick of the graphic after a while and the apache is more traditional. I will post pictures and let you all know more about them after I recieve them. Also if anyone has a picture of a set of apache or crstal oyster chips of their own can you please post them.
THanks,

That is my business "card"/"chip"
Chipco is making these for me and due inhand soon.
Not a very good image as I don't have live stock to
do them justice.

I'm asking them if I can get text on the edges of my new plaque and octagon, but my hopes are low. I can provide them a True Type font file with heiroglyphics, but Chipco is being very strict about the edges of my plaque and octagon.
