I am creating an organization with the sole purpose of encouraging the Texas Legislature to legalize poker.
We will have an organizational election on January 31st, 2005.

Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

The law is vague and allows for private unraked games of at least 51% skill.
Each county attorney in Texas has a different interpretation of the verbage.
Travis county has law enforcement officials playing in free games.
Dallas and Harris counties allow charity games with WSOP seat prizes.
Lubbock and Williamson counties ban free games like those from the Amatuer Poker League.
Ector county has requested a ruling from the state attorney general.
Texans for Poker is now a month old and has 147 members and held its first officer elections on Monday.
All are welcomed to help us anyway possible.
