"Only way for AA to always win is for nobody to see a flop."

And again now, I had pocket 10's and someone called with 94 off and hit 2 fours on the flop. Man this is bad. Im still not doing bad in tournaments but this is getting out of hand.

I just lost with pocket Aces to a flackin' Royal Flush
Posted Wed Jan 12, 2005 12:26 pm GMT by maniac_73
I had pocket kings and hit 4 kings on the flop. Went all in, my opponent calls he shows pocket aces, he hits two aces on the turn and the river. Hows that for a bad beat!

I would say if this was a home game, you need to shuffle more with that new deck.
If you saw this online, it would then be time to perhaps find a new site.

In one night, I had AA cracked by 10's, KK beaten by KJ, AK beaten by 89. And.....this one was huge... lost with a straight flush to a higher straight flush (7s 8s in BB flop 9s 10s Js he was holding Qs Ks). Not a good night for me. Fortunately I only lost $65. It could have been a lot worse. That's poker. By the way, this was in live play, not online. I've taken worse beats online (except the straight flush-that is my worst beat to date).

this happened to me a live game at a card room.
I am on the button. I call to see the flop with wired 3's. The flop comes 3/3/ace. the flop is bet to MAX. The turn is a Nine. Again it is bet to MAX. the river is a NINE. I roll over Quad threes, one of them rolls over quad 9's..... And right next door at another card room, they had a bad beat jackpot worth $80K. I would have made $40K.. Now that is worse then all of your guys bad beats....

You want those calling stations putting in their money without the
pot odds. Always remember long run!!!!!!
Over my past 6000 hands, up about $1400 playing mostly 5/10 on
Party. AA and KK account for 2/3 of my profit. I've definitely had
bad beats with AA and KK but think long run and don't tilt.

You're so right, gumby. I'll take the occasional bad beats when my KK gets cracked by A2 off on the river just because I can make a note on that player and let them pay me back with interest later. Sure they'll catch on you, but they'll also pay you off when they don't catch the miracles.

Are you playing limit or NL? Are you raising enough to get the junk out of the hand? Just curious. If you're slow-playing your big hands preflop, you may want to think of a new strategy (in NL). If it's limit, be prepared for the calling stations to catch on you. I call limit "no foldem holdem" for a reason. Also, if it is limit play, have you considered stepping up to higher limits where it'll cost those players more to chase?
Just a few questions/suggestions from a player who's learned (the hard way) from slowplaying big hands preflop.
