My vote would be none of them. I have handled the same chip as the first two just a different label design and they are worse than dice, suited, or diamond type 11.5s. The plasticy feel is even more prevelant than in the 11.5s. Also the metallic ring is much worse. On the third one, i suppose it is a little better because the metal is out in the open like a bud jones chip so out of those 3 i would say the third one.
I have 1000 12 gram nexgens and i consider them to be the best cheap poker chip on the market. cross hatched surface, 1 inch center perfect for custom labels and great edge spots.or if you wanted more a clay sound and feel you could get the soprano 6 stripe chips.
Is there a reason you dont want to deal with any other vendor?
Posted Fri Dec 31, 2004 11:17 pm GMT by kenny
No , am looking to buy good chips and if these arent it then I wont bother. As of now im looking up nexgens and the 6 stripes you recommended. I prefer when someone gives me tough critsicim on these chips , am looking forward to buying good ones.

Well after looking at my now 5 choices am leaning towards the metal incaly chips the set of 500... Does anyone know of any other chips they suggest?
EDIT: I just saw the same chips but with crowns instead of squares and diamonds. If anyone can find an online place besides ebay to buy these it would be grealtly appreciated.

Depending what you mean by "good" you could do much worse than the new Paulson Isthmus chips coming out in Jan or any Chipco, depending on your tastes and budget. Either of those will have you in the $1/chip price range.

Am looking for atleast 500 chips and my budget is 200 dollars tops. Anyone got any ideas?

ALL JUNK. you will regret it and end up wasting your money.
Try www.thepokerchipcompany.com you can get some nice chips for .45 each. Its a little more than what you are looking at but you will love them!

As far as the coin inlay chips, eBay has the better deals, even with the high shipping if you can get it with a low bid. There are two major sellers, one with crowns (lwillia800, at a higher initial bid) and one with diamonds (chips4fun4ever). Both of these look to be cheap Chinese clones of the decent Matsui coin inlay chips, which are clones of the authentic Bud Jones chips.
I have not seen the cheap coin inlays in person, but I've heard that (1) the plastic is like the cheapest 11.5g dice chips and very slick, and (2) the "coins" are very thin. I can't verify this. But if I wanted a real cheap chip, I'd consider this just because it's different from the 11.5'ers.
Notice for all these that the $25 chip is not the standard casino green, but is blue instead (and the $50 is green).
But Poker N Stuff allows more customization of the mix instead of a fixed mix on eBay. If this is important it might be worth a little more.

I had a sample of those chips. Super light and chinsy (sp?). Anyway I do not recommend them at all.

Kenny.....I thought they were pretty cool and the price isn't bad either. It looks like she has three sets available. I'm watching that auction and might jump on a set of those myself. Good Luck looking for a nice set elsewhere.

I have these chips and love them. They are not made by Paul-Son. They are made by Blue Chip and are similar. I don't like the $1 or $5 chip and am anxiously awaiting the new Paul-Son release for these denominations, but the rest are great. I have 650 of these chips and haven't played with any that I like better (granted, I have not played with the absolute top of the line.) If you do not like eBay, there is a company in Nevada that I ordered 600 of my 650 from. They are usually prompt and sell the chips for .79 each as opposed to the .97-.99 I see elsewhere. I wont post the link or name here, but if you would like to PM me, I would be glad to tell you where I got them. Do yourself a favor and spend your money on a good chip. I wasted about $200 on two other 11.5g sets, before I decided that if I was going to invest money in chips, that I might as well buy good ones. Build your set over time if you have to, but go with quality. Get some samples first and see if you like the chips before buying. The company I ordered from will sell as few as 1 chip.

Well my aunt just gave me 100 bucks for anything I want. So now my limit is 350 bucks tops. This opens way for Mardi Gras chips too.

What do you guys think about these chips?
http://www.5stardeal.com/deals/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=10-1900
With the denomantions of 1$,10$,25$,50$,100$ and 250 of each chip. ?

For your price range, I would persoanlly go with one of the following over the above, mainly because of feel:
http://www.5stardeal.com/deals/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=10-1500
http://www.5stardeal.com/deals/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=10-8000
http://www.5stardeal.com/deals/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=10-1600 (very cheap, but not too pretty)
... or those coin inalys you mentioned.

I decided to go with these :
http://www.thepokerchipcompany.com/Casino_Style_Chips/Casino_Style_1006/casino_style_1006.htm
(Paulson recommened them ) .
With the denomantions of 1$,5$,25$,50$, and 100$. Thanks all for the help.

For that price range I would go for pokerchips.com spotted clays at .50 each. Here's a link to the different molds http://pokerchips.com/molds.html . You'd be slightly over budget, but these are real clays and will not wear out or fade like those composites. This company does take a long time to fill orders though -- around 3 months. Worth the wait in my opinion.

They're good chips, but I can;t stand gold foil hot-stamped chips myself. Plus, why buy high quality chips that LOOK just like the (almost) cheapest ones on the market?
IMHO

Because they sound "oh so good!"
or you can go for the crown design.
Posted Mon Jan 03, 2005 5:36 pm GMT by kenny
I think Ill go with the crown desgin in colors Black , blue, green , red , and white. With the same denomantions I listed before.
