ok, I know a flush beats a straight in hold'em, I'm no beginner,,
but why is that? In almost every other variation of poker, a straight
beats a flush, or pays higher odds,, like in casino games,, carribean
stud, and 3card. Anyone have a clue why? No biggie, just a curiosity.

The odds of hitting a flush are lower than the odds of hitting a straight. Simple as that

yes, i think with only 3 or 5 cards, you will flush more that
straight, holdem you have 7 to choose from, so straights
are more common, unless im wrong, then .., well im wrong.

There are only 13 cards to a flush correct? There are 52 cards to a stright.... correct? 3 4 5 6 7 stright 5 cards time 4 cards per number= 20 cards. More cards to make a stright then a flush.
