UPDATED! Nexgens with custom labels... PICS |

I have a nice set of custom Chipcos (my friend had them made and wont let anyone post pics because he is a RETARD!) and never really thought of having a lower end set. I always thought the idea of stickers was pretty lame and couldnt look very good. I just helped a friend come up with these and jasone@verizon.net did the labels for us. I HIGHLY recommend him, very inexpensive and will custom design ANYTHING in any color/denom for like $10!! The labels went on REALLY easy and my crappy video camera does not do them justice. They look GREAT in person. I like these so much I bought myself a set! About $200 for a set of 650 including the labels. The Nexgens are better than I thought and they stack REAL high....
updated with a scan to show them better...

Looking good Ash...I'm working with Jason (GREAT customer service so far) as well and I'll be adding labels to Nexgen's too. Thanks for the pics!

Wow... Looks great! I see where you got the Idea for the labels...(cough) classics...(cough) How long did it take to put all the labels on?

Are the labels vinyl?

Nice chips. The labels look great thanks for the info and especially the pics. Looks like the label color-to-chip color match is pretty good... kind of hard to tell from the pics but only the yellow stands out and doesn't look bad.
Were they laser or inkjet printed?
Does Jason have a website or just the e-mail contact info?

The yellows are a bit off... but all the chips look better in person. These are laser labels, no vinyl though. I did spray them with some protector recommended in another thread here. It took about 2 hours to apply 1300 labels. It was shockingly easy. Yes, my friends really likes the Chipco classics so I had Jason do something similar. I dont think he has a site, just some ebay auctions...

i also got my labels from him for my 1000 nexgens($20x2=$40) he was great with responding to my emails. the labels are plain matte paper, which kind of sucks. his design was good but the first 2000 that he sent me were all off center, so he sent me a second 2000 free of charge (shipping free too) and they were still not right but better. the backround color makes the chip look lopsided because the outer circle of the design is not actually 1 inch so he just draged the design in his software to the top of the 1 inch circle. so the very top is touching perfectly and then the rest of the label as you go down gets farther and farther away from the circles already stamped out on the sheet.
he was great to work with but you might want to try lynbark or try jason and have him send you a few sheets before you get all of them.

That is why you need a design with some bleed. There is no way to get an entire sheet of labels to print perfecty centered. There will always be some small variations. Mine arent perfect but neither are REAL inserts. By the way, we got some labels from Lynbark as well. They were good but not better and he doesnt customize as much...

I have image examples from both guys and I will be getting 1000 labels from both. The best looking ones in person will go on the 500 chips or I may even use both designs on every chip....I will just keep the extra 1000 for the next 500 Nexgen's that I pick up.

Thanks for the info.
Ash - Excellent design tip regarding the bleed
ky70 - Order your chips yet... going for next day service? I thought I remember you saying you needed them for Saturday night. Good luck with your chips & labels... post pics when you get 'em!

Fin, I ordered my chips this morning (thanks for asking) from 5stardeal. I only got regular UPS ground but I've ordered from them before and there shipping turnaround is about 2 or 3 days...so I'm hoping they'll arrive by Wednesday at the latest.
My biggest fear is that in 2 or 3 months I won't like the chip label design anymore, but I'm pass the point of no return now.

Seems like I've heard that the stickers stay put but that they can be taken off & replaced rather easily... an added benfit of custom labeling your own. Let us know what you think when you get them in. I think that since the labeler did up the design the small text issue I mentioned is probably not a problem... he'd know I'd think plus since there laser printed the graphic should be pretty sharp.
Maybe their debut will pay for themselves (or at least the labels )!

Good point! i forgot about the removable thing....based on your earlier e-mail I did ask the guy if the font size would look okay....he said it will look great but I still removed a couple of words just in case

I'm about to have a set of labels made myself. One thing I wanted to ask, did he have a set of the chips to match the colors ahead of time?
Posted Wed Jan 19, 2005 4:01 am GMT by ashVID
I think he did... I also sent him scans too... laser printers have trouble matching the yellow...

Added a scan to show them better. Also put new labels on the $1000 chip.

Hey the scans look much better as the orig. pics were kind of washed/fuzzy... did make me wonder if they would look better if the denoms matched the edge spot color not that they need anything to look better
