I've been playing some S&G today although I know I shouldn't. My luck is terrible in them. I've lost several all ins against hands you wouldn't even believe.
I was heads up for a guy to win one of them and have pretty good cards. It turns out he's got crap. Both my cards are higher. I also hit a pair... But what do you think happens on the river? HE CATCHES A STRAIGHT!! I lose.
Then I enter a new S&G. It's pretty early and I get 77. I raise 100 (of 1000) and get 4-5 callers. I then go all in. I get two callers. The flop comes. 10 10 3. They both check. Turn, another 3. One of them goes all in too (he had doubled up earlier). The other guy folds. Ok, so unless the guy has a 3 or 10 or a higher pair I'm good. He shows AQo. WHAT?!? Did he call me with that? Ok, I triple up at least. River comes... ACE. I don't know how many times this has happened to me. I can't catch a break. And when I do, I get no callers. Or did I play this one wrong?
This is not a bad beat but still...
To cool off I enter a ring game. .5/1. Third hand. AKo. I raise. I get a few callers. Flop comes. K J 10. I raise. Then I get some aggression from a guy but I think I have a good chance with the top kicker. He shows K10. Two pairs.

And I continue...
I have KQ, loses to AK, pair of kings, because of the lower kicker. The second highest.
I then get 10 10. I raise. Get a few callers. Flop comes. 9 4 5. I raise. One or two fold. The other keep going. Turn. Another crap card. I bet again. They call. Then on the river. Ace. Bam! Two guys start bidding like crazy. Turns out they have both been playing Ace rag. (A4 and A5). WHY DO PEOPLE DO THAT?!?! I fold them preflop even in unraised pots. I don't call repetitive raises, even if I have a low pair.
Now I feel slightly calmer. Got AQs and won a fairly big pot with them. Caught an ace on the flop and a queen on the turn... Yay!
