Math has never been a real strong point for me. I'm not saying I can't do simple math, it's just that I am not one of those who can just look and calculate fast in their head. I'm able to but it's just not instinct like it seems to be with alot of people.
My question is how many of you actually do the calculations in your head? And how many of you just know by experience, etc...?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Both. I started out doing them on the fly, but inevitably you 'll remember them without having to refigure it each time. Its really a small number of meaningful results anyway, so you could very well skip the calculations entirely and just memorize the odds chart on this site.

Memorizing them would make more sense now that you mention it. It would be just one more thing I wouldn't have to think about.

When I first found this site I used the odds calculator, I figured out the odds of all basic draws, wrote them down on a piece of paper and taped it to the wall next to my computer. After a while I had memorized everything on it.

That's a good idea suited. Thanks for the input folks!

The rule of 2/4 works well, but I'm a math person, so I've just preferred to do em on the fly.

I tend to use the 4/2 rule myself to figure it out most of the time.
