My daughter brought back 20 1$ chips from the Bellagio for her crazy dad. My question is are they Paulsons w/o the top hat and cane?

That is a Paulson product, Paul-Son also produces a 'House' mode with the name of the particular casino, and that is what the Bellagio chip appears to be. It would be a house mold 39mm chip with a 'Giant' inlay (what GPI calls their 1 3/8" inlay). I'm guessing that this is also what GPI will be using for that retail chip they're coming out with except in this case the 'house' name will be "Paulson Chips"

Thanks for the info. Seems to be a lot to learn. Are these typical "casino" chips? They seem abit smaller than my 9g diamonds. Would love to have a 1000 though. They are good looking.

They feel great! I was surprised at how well my plain old super diamonds hold up against them for sound and feel though. Not that they are in the same league but they aren't as far apart as I thought they would be.

I thought the Bellagio chips were Blue Chip?

While I haven't been in every Vegas casino , the only time I ever saw a Blue Chip chip in a Vegas casino was as a $1 chip at the Statosphere, though I understand that the Golden Gate downtown is also using a Blue Chip for their $1 chip as well. (They use Paul-Sons for their other values.)

Would the casinos start using a cheaper 1$ chip in response to people buying chips for home games? Just a thought.

I can attest to that. I have a Stratosphere $1 chip and it's the 8 point star mold? Sahara $1 chip is the same.

Someone had stated that I had said somewhere in some threads that Bellagio chips were made by Blue Chip.
I must of made that comment by mistake. Thier chips are made by Paulson. Its a distinct feel different from a Blue Chip. The Bellagio chips feel identical to the used Vineyard $1 chips.
If anyone is ever confused about if its a Paulson chip or not, just put it under a black light. Most new Paulson chips have a UV security feature.
I will either have a top hat and cane, say the word "paulson" or the casinos name.
