I was playing my brother in a game of Holdem and this is what happend:
My brother checks, then I raise 2 bucks, my brother calls me and then goes all in.
this is before the flop, but my question is can he check and then go all in after i raised?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I don't see how he can check preflop if he acted before you. That doesn't make any sense. Didn't you have any blinds?

He can check, then go all in after you bet. It is called a check raise.
If he says call, then he called and cannot raise-that would be a string bet.
If you are asking if he can go all in following your bet after originally checking, the answer is definately yes.

sounds like he worded it wrong
if he checks then hes checked - is he calls then hes called
however a lot of people say ill call your bet and then raise you whatever

Agreed Dave B. Sounds like a String Bet.
Rat M. ; Are String Bets allowed at your Games?. At some of the not so "Anal" home games, string bets are allowed because some of the players don't know what a "String Bet" is. "I call, annnnd... raise you another $2". That is how most of the family home games are played.
Rules-Rules-Rules. Very important.

Actually it depends on your ages.
A younger brother may not check raise an older brother, but an older brother can do pretty much what ever he wants to.
