Hi guys
JUst wondering i have been reading and hearing about poker tournaments going on and was wondering about legalities.
These places that are having tournaments in "units" are the legal or illegal i want to play in a few, but unfortantely cant take a chance of the place being raided, have to much to lose work wise.
Any info would be aprreciated you can pm me if you chose not to discuss here

I'm not trying to give you a hard time but there is a section of this forum dedicated to poker and gaming law, you may have more success there.

the varies by state so letting us know what state you wish info about might enable us to give you a more definitive answer.

most football pools and other pools use the entry fee as units, 5units 100units, cause its illegal to say 100$ unless your in a state where sports gambling is legal. But poker is legal everywhere i think as long as no one is taking a rake, which means 100% of the buy-in is paid out to the winners.

Duhh. Musta taken a stupid pill this morning. The way he wrote that, I was trying to figure out what kind of a building Canadians call a unit.
