First limit hold'em casino experience... got raped |

Well I guess technically its not my first, my first time I played for 1/2 quickly doubled my $100 stack and got out. But this was my first real sit down.
Anyways I started off watching the table and noticed alot of calling and radical betting by some players, and once I was called i landed a perfect spot, VERY loose player on my right and VERY tight on my left. The game was a 4-8 half/half with 10 people and I bought in for $160. I wont really go into much detail about the omaha sessions, cuz I tried to play them as little as possible, even tho thats the only time i won any money! But anyways, during the hold em sessions I started off really tight and fold most hands and played a couple mediocre hands on the blinds which didnt get me much. After a few folds I pulled AQ suited and had good position (1 before the button) so I raised preflop and was called by nearly everyone (this damn table turned into a calling station). So on the flop I hit my ace with no flush draws or other face cards, great I'm thinking so I raise, and get called by a few and some fold. Turn comes Ace again... Im thinkin damn rights here comes payday, so I bet get raised then reraised, so i call the 3 bets and river comes, looks like nothing too harmful but it did make another low pair on the board. So after raising the river 2 of us left show our cards, I get nailed by a LOW full house. Im thinking bad beat whatever shrug it off I'll get him next time. THE VERY NEXT HAND AQ suited again. So things kinda play out the same again except I flop the A but no A on the turn, so i bet and jam away its all lower cards out there and very unlikely straights and no flushes... and the same guy that called me out last time nails me with 8-4 two pair. DAMMIT, so now a bunch of hands later I get AQ suited AGAIN, and what happens same crap as the second time but this time get beating by 8-6 two pair. I mean I couldnt get anyone to fold almost before the flop or turn, and everyone calls so my raising options are limited. WHAT DID I DO WRONG HERE? I know AQ isnt the best hand, but the fact that im losing to low pairs is killing me, I cant seem to get people to fold.... anyways enough ranting, gimme your criticizm while I go back to no limit tournament hold em only.

How can you lose to a LOW full house if the flop had an Ace and the turn brought another Ace? With your pocket Ace, wouldn't you have a higher full house with a low pair on the board?

What you're describing sounds exactly like every public poker table here in South Florida. It's just throw all your money in the pot and see who has the best cards at the end.
Drives me nuts, made me a firm believer that no kind of skills can beat a table like that. So I don't play 'em any more. I've gotten my ass kicked too many times.
To me, everyone is just trying to get lucky, and in the end, nobody wins but the house. The stack of chips that gets passed around the table only gets smaller and smaller after the house's cut and the dealer's tips.

Sounds like the other guy had a low set and had the 2 A's on the board for his boat. mxk only had trip A's.

Gotcha. I must have missed the 'on the board' part. A's full should have taken that pot the way it was described. Go ahead and add me to the confused list.
