heya. i'm planning on buying a set of good plastic cards and it seems like the copags are the good deal. however, i'd like to hear from you guys, which ones are better in texture, thickness, color/design quality etc. i'm really looking for a thick plastic with texture, as bicycle/bee have. are copag cards slick/shiny or texturized?

I have Copags and Kems. Neither have the textured finish like Bees. The Kems have a very slight texture, kinda like woodgrain maybe, well not really, can't think of anything else even close though. The Copags have kinda a matte finish, not any particular texture but not shiny smooth like Gemacos. The Kems are thicker by one card's worth.
I'd recommend either. Neither really feels like paper cards though, the Kems might be a little closer.

I'm new to plastics and bought a set of both from ebay and I like them equally to be quite frank. The Kems I bought are bridge size with regular index and everything is quite clear, easy shuffle and feel great. The copags are just as good. I can't judge the durability as of yet because I've only used them a couple of times.

Copags have at least 2 different finishes. Don't know the technical names, but basically 'slick' and 'rough'. How's that??? I've handled the 'slick' several times and didn't like it at all. The 'rough' I've handled once and is fairly close to my KEM's, but I still like the overall feel of the KEM's more.
I may be wrong here, but I think Copags' "Poker" cards are the 'rough' cards.
Someone correct me if I've got this wrong.
Cheers,
John

I just got my first Copag's from HPC and my first impressions are good. I got the wide ones which may be the "poker" ones you mentioned. I'm not sure "rough" is the right word but they don't seem slick and do have some texture. I didn't get any bridge size so I can't attest to how those feel or if they're different. The ones I have feel good & shuffle great. They're a little thinner than my KEM's and of course the graphics aren't as good but not bad by any means. The fact that the Copags are thinner made me like my KEM's better right from the start but as I have yet to play with the Copags we'll see if that changes. As long as they hold up they look like a great altenative to $12-15's a deck for KEM's.
Just thought I give my first impressions and say the wide one's I have are probably the "rough" you described.
FYI - Among the many others I found the service at holdempokerchips.com to be excellent and I'd definitely by from there again.
