Played in 2 act I tournaments in foxwoods last nite, took 2 of the worst beats of my life (2 tournies).
Tourny I:
77 in the hole. limp in early position. Flop comes 778. I raise to 300, 2 callers. Turn comes 10, i raise 300 again, 1 caller, 2nd caller goes all in. I call. he turns over 8/4 (he tripped 8's against my 7's full). River comes a 4 to make him 8's over 4's to beat my 7's over 4's.
Tourny 2:
down to $350 in chips. Blinds 25/50. 2 callers i raise all in with K/Q offsuite. 1 caller with 8/9 suited. Me and him heads up.. board comes K 4 A .. then 8 9 to make him 2 pair...
what a freaking night.. 2 bad beats in one night... the wound still hurts....
thats poker i guess..

I think you may want to contact Foxwoods and have them fire the dealer that said you had 7's over 4's
If you made a full house then it was 7's over 8's
But that's a minor point.
You didn't have a full house.
You actually had quad 7's
77 in the hole and 2 more on the flop = 4

if the flop in the first tourney was 778... then you would have made quad 7s

The flop must have been 788 for the story to make sense.

yeah sorry it was 788 not 778.
the hand still hurts though...

if it was 788 its not really a terrible beat, as if you floped trip 8s you probably would have played it similarly, just unfortunate, and a pretty loose pre flop play.

you left alot of info out, like how much was the stack that called you with 8/9 suited, if he was big enough, its worth to call to knock someone out, for only 350. and mid suited connectors are a good hand to knock someone out with.
First tourny id say poor playing on you, you limped in letting the blinds see the flop for free, im assuming 8/4 was a blind and he flopped trips, we all know you wont fold that.
