Almost the worst possible...

This was a fun one, and seems pretty typical of my past two weeks.

The game is $5/$10 HE. I believe we're roughly six-handed.

A player I know to be a pretty good player (read as: While he's moderately tight preflop, he's very aggressive, and is capable of all the standard trickery you'd expect from a solid player.) raises from UTG+1.

I'm on the BB with KK. A chorus of folds, and I 3bet. He calls, and we're head up to a flop. He could hold a wide variety of hands here.

The board comes down A K x. I bet, knowing full well that he will raise with almost any two cards here, but chances are he DID get a piece of this board. I don't want to scare him off of something like KQ, KJ, QQ, JJ... and I don't want him to slow down yet, since the only hand that I'm behind is AA, and I'm about 99% certain he does NOT have it. He could, but against me, I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of the time, he would've a)capped preflop, or b)flat-called my bet and waited until the turn to raise. I call his raise, planning to check-raise the turn.

The turn comes an offsuit J. I follow through with my check-raise. He 3bets, and now I'm a tad scared, but not too bad. Surely he COULD have QT, but I don't think he would've raised UTG+1 with it. I figure I'm up against AK, AJ, KJ, or JJ most of the time here, and if he DOES have QT, good for him, but I've got a lot of outs, and most of his hands completely smoked.

River is a J. I bet, he raises. Looks like he filled up, or is overplaying a straight. I 3bet, he caps... I obviously call, but didn't really like seeing him cap there...

Since you know what section of the forums we're in, it's obvious that he showed JJ and scooped the pot.

I do believe that's the worst that I've personally had dished out to me. He had to go runner-runner, but he had running straight outs, putting me at a very slim like, 50 to 1 on the flop.

I had a very similar situation the other day online. (I hate playing online btw)

A total maniac was playing in front of me UTG+2. Were playihng 3/6. He raises, I reraise with KK. The action folds around to him who 3 bets it, and I cap. Again, he is a total maniac and this is pretty standard form from him with any paint on his cards.

Flop comes QQJ. He checks, I bet, he raises, I call.
Turn is a K. He bets, I raise, he reraises.

Now, their are only 2 cards he could be holding that can beat me right now (no S-Flushes out there). Pocket QQ. And since he's a maniac, he could be playing anything, including AA (which is actually what I put him on because I've seen him totally over value AA before), KJ, QJ, KQ, JJ, etc.

We cap the turn and the river, and wouldn't ya know it, QQ. Of course he gives me his typical maniac remark "Where'd all your money go sucker?"

I left the table to avoid playing on Tilt back at him.

Actually, snoggins, I believe that is the WORST possible beat. Two Js in the entire deck, he needs them both and only has two cards left. How can it get any worse?

He had a few ways to make a running straight too, which gives him like, 5 times the ways to win, but 5 times nothing is still nothing ;p
