i was a bit relieved after watching tilt tonight. It seemed to be a better episode than the pilot and it looks promising for the future.
any other opinions?

Yeah, better than episode 1.
It is what it is . . . not a poker show but an R-rated soap opera set in the poker-cheats world of Las Vegas. Same corny but interesting quality like Desperate Housewives. Definitely better than American Idol. (OK, so now I've insulted just about everybody!) Fine cinema it ain't, but we're talking ESPN here.
I thought episode 1 tried to cram too many things in, but maybe that was to give everybody a reason to tune in next time. Epsiode 2 showed more poker, and seemed to work through the plot lines & characters better. Matador's daughter is a fox, though, gotta admit that.

Thanks to this crappy program I only watched sportscenter for 7.5 hours today! Can someone explain why this is on ESPN?
The poker aspects of it are hilarious (although clearly it's not a poker show): I've got the nuts, my oppoent has the second nuts, I'm a great player because he paid me off bigtime.

"I've been trying to show someone these all day."
I am soooo going to use that tonight. Although I'll probably get slapped.
I enjoy the story plots and actors so far but I abhor the actual poker sequences they show.
Yeah the play is a little ridiculous but hey I guess since he is "the best natural player since the kid Unger" you chase the runner runner club flush. It's not like he was playing the other players either. He flat called seemingly knowing the flush was coming and was just thinking to him self what they were going to do by their tells. Then he moved all-in after he had the flush. That's not being a good player. That's being a god damned psychic. I'd go buy a lottery ticket if I was him.
Man I can't believe I just wrote that. It's a television show. But at least they should pay some respect and be a little more believable to the world and game they are portraying. Especially if you are trying to cash in on it or the built in audience may lose interest. At least Playmakers was a little believable. So much so that the NFL had a tizzy. Now that was funny.

Actually, he caught his flush on the turn. he was holding KJ suited. The other guy made his on the river when the 4th club hit.

Haven't seen the episode yet, so I'm trying to avoid seeing any spoilers, but I have a complaint with the way ESPN is scheduling this thing. If you want to build an audience for a show, it's probably a good idea to make certain it airs when it's supposed to. I can understand not cutting away from a good college hoops game like the one that preceded the show last night, but why not put the show on at a time you know it won't be delayed? I went out last night, got home around midnight and was all ready to watch it on TiVo...and I end up FF through the Iowa/Illinois OT instead.
I know it's going to run another 4 or 5 times before next week, but it's very aggravating and almost more trouble than it's worth.
