And yes....the answer is, I have some of the new Paulsons on the way. However, the supplier who is sending them tells me that his main shipment won't be into him until mid-February.

Ahhh.... We all thought you already got something in the mail, not something that is on the way. Quit teasing us. Razz

Only if you don't say anything. But with machines to detect and kill bacteria and other harmful crap that goes through the US mail system, anything live would most likely be dead by the time it gets to the destination.

Since this is my first post, I'll say 'Hello' too all the (non-spamming) members.

Secondly, in Louisiana, Title IX of Louisiana Revised Statutes includes a treatment of animals. Therein, it specifically excludes 'chicken' from classification as an 'animal'. This was done in order to maintain the legality of cock-fights, which are, apparently, legislatively protected here!

The consequences of this are:

You can't be prosecuted (under La law, maybe different for Federal regulations) for abusing, torturing, mutilitating, sodomizing, theft of an animal (you may be charge with Theft of Goods valued under $20), killing of an animal, or other offenses.

Most importantly, and with regards to the dead rat comment, the reason I post here, is that you can LEGALLY MAIL A LIVE CHICKEN IN AN ENCLOSED CONTAINER in Louisiana.

However, since it is mostly Federal regulation that deals with common carriers and the postal service, I guess this is pointless, but since we are the only jurisdiction that excludes chickens as animals, I thought it was worth a mention Smile

Have a good day,

Dear Zak:

LOL -- The first case I studied in law school is one I refer to as the "Goose" case. The Tennessee Supreme Court, in 1901, concluded that a goose is not an animal. Then in 1936, the Tennessee Supreme Court concluded that a dog is also not an animal. (What's really scary is my confusion about both cases lifted, and then I understood why they aren't animals. But trying to explain it to a normal person is not easy.)

That has to be good news for law students. There are dozens of jurisdictions and thousands of species. Think of how much work there would be in taking cases to determine which species are animals and which are not!

Ok, enough:

where did we stray from - "paulson chips in the mail"
to - "dead rat in mail legalities"
to - "cock-fighting"
to - "sodomizing"
????

If I want rat mailing discussion, I will consult my postmaster wife.
If I want exciting news of paulson chip mailings, I will consult you folks.
Focus here people on the task at hand.

Paulson has updated his site with pics of the new paulsons. they are the same "demo" chip that was shown on dice702 site. im still waiting to see what the actual home paulsons will look like though. the inlay is much smaller on those than the "demo" chips that were reviewed.

Standard 7/8" (Casion de Isthmus)
Grand 1 1/16" (Paulson Demo chip)
