WOW, that is a ton of color. Nice chips! Everytime I see people's custom stuff, it makes me want to get some of my own. I just can't pick a design, lol.

I can't see the first picture because my computer is acting up but I love the colors and the stacks look great in the second picture. Great chips.

Where did you get those kinds of racks? The ones with 4x25 instead of the usual 5x20?
I really like them. The chips look amazing. Me personally i would love to get a set of custom chipcos, just im not sure on how much i would pay for a ceramic chip. Im much more attached to the clay ones with some texture.

Not crazy about $50 chips but man does that blue look great!
Made me a believer
Sweet looking chips

Those are very nice, I have a couple questions though.
Are those your initials under the denominations? Why are they missing from the white chips?
Posted Tue Jan 25, 2005 4:12 pm GMT by MSPatton
The "CI" is required to be on all Chipco chips now.
Stands for Chipco Internatiuonal.
The trays of 4x25 are actually boxes. Chipco ships home sets to the
home market in these now.
They ship in trays to the wholesale market. Or in bulk lots if you want your chips to have the already used look when they arrive.

Nice chips Mr. Meaner... full of color!
Where'd you order them? From the pic date, looks like you got in before the price increase!
I wasn't so lucky... thanks for sharing!

The 4 x 25 chip trays are like racks with a cover, they came with my 1000 Poker chip case I bought. I think several internet poker supply companies have them for about $3.00 ea. For every 100 chips you order from Chipco you recieve 1 standard 5x20 Chipco racks plus 1 extra. I have since ordered a few extra but rarely use them. I do like the chip boxes that I have as I can account for all my chips rather quickly. I currently have 1200 chips and 200 new ones on the way.
I worked with Dave and his graphic artist Patrick from Homepokerchips.com, price was around $0.98 per ship + artwork fees. My first order of 1000 chips did not include a white $1 chip so I ordered some along with more black chips.
I should have the comlete 1400 set in the next few weeks.
Fins is correct, Chipco puts the CI on there chips as some type of security measure. Not sure whay they don't have them on a $1 chip
Dabear, for all my tourneys I give 25 chips = $1500 in chips
8 x $25
8 X $50 is the reason I bought these.
9 X $100
Big and Small Blinds start at 25-25 then go to 25-50 and so on. I use the extra black 100's and yellow 500's to color up as the blinds go up. through out the tourney.
I use the white $1 & red $5 chips to start the dealers choice cash games when players get knocked out of the tourney, Once I color up and account for every green 25 chips i have I will introduce them into the cash game if the pot goes ove the $1700 bankroll of reds and white.
I am thinking of buying 800 or so of the Paulsons "home" chips for my cash games. If they would just get them in stock
Any other questions please feel free to ask.

BAM... kick it up a notch!
Though chips like that deserve a good home!
Sweet setup... thanks for posting!
Just wondering if you like your case & whether you got it from PokerChipsUSA?

Yep thats the case that I bought although I am out of room. I initially bought 1000 chips, but will have a total of 1400 very soon. I needed whites for cash games and now need more black chips for my tourneys.
I also like the box cases that came with the chip case, as I can account for all my chips quickly.

Mr. Meaner I'm curious what kind of table that is in the first picture of one of your poker tables? Did you build it, or buy it? If you bought it, where did you get it from?
Posted Wed Jan 26, 2005 6:43 pm GMT by hachkc
Thats the exact same case I bought at Home Depot over the weekend for $19.97. Obviously, it didn't come with the chip cases but they probably wouldn't cost $70!!! You can get 10 of those plastic chip cases for about $11 at www.5stardeal.com.
Posted Wed Jan 26, 2005 6:47 pm GMT by Deakon
I searched the homedepot site and couldn't find anything about that case.
Posted Wed Jan 26, 2005 8:08 pm GMT by Mr. Meaner
Nickmast,
You can buy those tables at http://www.cardroomsupply.com/histtehota.html
Hachkc,
Yes the homedepot case is very similar to mine and yes I probably paid too much but did not know any better at the time. I was just looking for a case that would hold a thousand chips and it fit the bill perfectly so i bought it.
Deacon, do a search for "aluminum case" the the HD website, it will be the 4th item down.

I wasn't looking for one it but they just happened to have one sitting at the end of the aisle and it looked like a good deal. They had ones in black, silver and red. Makes me feel good that I got a good deal on it.

I checked out that case at HomeDepot and luckily called Lowes at the last minute. I think the one I got is a bit better than the Home Depot version, IMO. It was only $25 and I have some chip cases in the mail. Either way, thanks for turning me on to a case like this, I think it is easier and looks better than the normal cases out there.

Mr. Meaner,
I cant believe you paid $3,999 for a poker table. I made mine for $350 and it has two cast iron restaurant table bases, mali billard cloth ,and nice padded rails.I guess thats what you do when you aren't on a tight budget.
Anyways I'm extremely jealous.

Not real sure, probably more than I want to think about. We just laid new carpet today and my new poker chairs should be here tomorrw. Some of the items belong to my company(we are in the IT and network consulting business) and some of the items have been donated.
All the current chairs belong to the company. The Big Screen TV and couches were donated by my mother and brother(they both play poker with us). The Viewsonic 20" LCD screens were purchased at cost by our company. The only things I have purchased are the three tables, 20 new chairs, chips, misc accsessories(cards, case, cup holders, money box ect..) stereo and refrigerator in the break room. The poker room is located at our business in an upstairs room.
I will take some more pictures with the new carpet and chairs when the room is finished.
Peace
Mr Meaner

I though this was in your basement. This is your workplace?
Are you guys hiring, because I can pass a piss test!

hey Mr. Meaner, not to change the subject of the post deliberately but I wanted to ask you a question. Someone else posted about the laws in TX being very strict for gambling/poker and their home game got busted. Are you in a different county, or is it that you're not taking a rake that makes your game legit? I'm not from TX and was just curious how the laws affected it.
Posted Fri Feb 11, 2005 9:46 am GMT by Mr. Meaner
Toney, Sorry we are not hiring at this time.
Tguns, I have spoken with our attorney about how to go about making everything legit at our place. We do not take a rake, we do not take a cut of prize money and we do not sell anything(ex alcohol). What we do have is a donation fund that some people help pitch in to cover the cost of food and drinks but it is not taken out of the poker money.

John, very smart of you. With a high class room like that I knew you would have your bases covered. Hey, your setup is so nice I might just give a donation for being able to look at the pics of it! Ha, just kidding. Keep posting your new pics though, it gives all of us something to attain to.
