What happens when you don't have quite enough for a blind and what happens to the chips?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

You are considered all in for however many chips you have. All players that want to see a flop are committed to the amount of the big blind, they cannot just call your bet.
For example-you have 1500 w/ blinds of 5000/2500. You are all in for 1500, any player needs to call 5000, if no one calls, small blind has essentially put you all in. W/ no callers you get 3000 if you win and are out if you lose. The next hand, you would have 3000 and need to post 2500 for your small. If you want to call you can go all in for the remaining 500 or be left w/ 500 and live until you call or have the blinds come around again.
