Long time lurker...first time poster...
Just wanted to share with everyone an image of my new Nexgens. I don't actually have them yet...they're being shipped from 5star and the labels are being printed and sent. I also want to echo the sentiments of people on this (and other) poker forums about the quality work and outstanding service from chip label masters Brent (lynbark@nc.rr.com) and Jason (jasone@verison.net).
I emailed both gentlemen on Saturday night (around midnight) with a request for poker chip labels and a rough idea of what I wanted. I'm a big Star Wars nut and a poker fan, so I wanted my new chips to be reflective of that. By Sunday afternoon, I had already received responses with sample images. Jason was extremely quick with his samples, and was extremely responsive with some tweaks I suggested. However, Brent's sample really blew me away. I decided to go with Brent's, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either one of them (I even sent Jason a small payment to show my appreciation for his work on the samples).
Check them out. Now I'll be like a kid at Christmas, waiting for the UPS guy to show up with the chips and the mailman to deliver the labels!! :D
Please note...This graphic is on Brent's "Other" examples page. My set only has the red, green, black and purple chips (no white or blue), and I asked Brent to put Boba Fett onto the red chip with a 5 value instead of Darth Maul with the 10 value. But seeing this graphic almost made me go back to 5star and order more chips!!.

Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Good work
Some feedback:
1.) I like the inlays matching the edgespots
2.) Get Chewbacca on the 1K chip

Suupurb labels Marc, I'm impressed. Great color choices for matching the characters! I wish you'd get the whole set (but change Maul's denom to "5" like you said). And maybe make R2's denominationless, to add a "blank" chip for flexibility. A 50 (and 10) chip is a bit of a waste.
I agree that Chewy would make a great yellow 1000 chip.

Ok, maybe I'm just a geek that grew up on Star Wars, but those are damn sweet!

Wow, great chips! How much does something like that go for if you don't mind me asking??

chips should cost you about $100 (including shipping) for a 500 set. The labels should cost between $30 to $40.

Don't mind you asking at all...we're all here to help each other, right?
Check out www.5stardeal.com for the Nexgen chips (poker chip style 10-8000). As mentioned in one of the other posts in this forum, the cheapest cost-per-chip cost comes in the $59.99 300 chip set (I got 2 300 chip sets). Brent charged me $39 plus $4 shipping for 1200+ labels (2 for each chip plus a few extras of each style in case I screw up putting a some of them on).
Our games typically don't use the $1, $10, or $1000 chips, though I'm REALLY tempted to order some white, blue, and yellow chips and hit Brent up for some more labels!! We'll see...
Thanks for all the positive feedback. Brent deserves all the credit. I just planted the seed...saying I thought it might be cool to have Yoda on the green chip and Vader on the black chip, etc...Brent made it happen.
