Who wins questions?

Posted Tue Feb 01, 2005 8:26 pm GMT by jacatone
The 5 community cards show nothing. One player has 9,2 and another 8,4, does the 9 win? Again there's nothing in the community cards but one player has a A,Q, does he win?

Does anyone have a list of these often confusing outcomes they could provide a link to or email me? Thanks.

use your best 5 cards and all 5 cards to determine the winner. Yes, 92 would beat 82 if no one paired and AQ would only lose to AK if no one has at least a pair.

If it was 82 vs 52, it could be a split pot if the board is something like AKQJ9.

I don't get it, why dig up these old dead threads? It's great that we have a page that answers this kind of question, and if you can catch 'em the day they post they might see it, otherwise I'm thinking there's no reason anyone's going to see these posts again unless they keep popping up in the recent posts page for some reason... Wink

I know that this may be off-topic for this thread, but what if player 1 had 9,3 instead of 9,2??????

Because this in not an old Tread. It is a sticky posted by Geno which clearly reads

Sticky: A beginners' FAQ - please read BEFORE posting a question.

He has offered a complete breakdown of this very problem. The thing is, I don't mind helping people the best I can, as do most of the users of this forum, but if they can't spend the 2 minutes it takes to read a Sticky that say "read BEFORE posting" they shouldn't get there questions answered.

1. They do not have to wait because it's always there.
2. It's always at the top of the page
3. This damn question is asked 3 times a week.
