Hey everyone,
This is an open question to anyone who watches poker or poker/cardplay-related shows on television in the US. I've got this DVR sitting around that currently isn't doing much work, and I want to get some use out of it. I've caught poker tourneys on ESPN, Tilt, etc. on occasion but wanted to know if there are others that I should start programming in on this thing. Ultimately I'd like to have it record every decent poker show or tourney on TV, and maybe you can input some listings and channels, when to watch, that sort of thing. I would much appreciate it.
All I've got so far:
Tilt - sometime during the week, can't remember
Celebrity Poker- Bravo, on Tuesdays maybe 9-ish?
Thanks in advance for the help,
Tom

Tilt is on Thursdays on ESPN
World Poker Tour is on Wednesdays at 9pm on Travel Channel
If you get the "Gameshow Network"(GSN), they are currently running a "Battle of the Sexes" but it's not that good.
Bravo has Celebrity Poker Showdown as you already mentioned
ESPN and ESPN Classic run re-runs of old WSOP events all the time.

Ahh, thats where they hid WPT - the Travel Channel? Thanks NutFlush!
Hey, how about that American Poker Championship or something - it was supposedly a totally live unedited tournament? One-time thing or is it still on?

Oh yeah, that was on FSN(Fox Sports Net). I haven't seen it replayed since it first aired though. They also have "Championship Poker at the Plaza". That's a pretty good one to watch.

interesting that you post this now.
I just got a DVR myself 2 days ago. Here's what I am doing:
Just scroll through the program guide. When you find a poker show you want to record (2003 WSOP, for example), highlight it then press the record button. That will bring up a menu. Choose "recored this series." Now, everytime that show comes on (any of the 2003 WSOP shows, for example), your DVR will automatically record them.
So far all I have are the last 2 episodes of 2003 WSOP. But on Sunday ESPN is showing 5 or 6 back to back episodes of 2004. Plus I have the WPT and all the other poker series' I could find in the program guide all set to record.
What I want to do is get the whole season's worth of these things, put them in order, then burn them to DVD.
Let me know how you do with it, if you get some time.

Imajica, thanks for the tip. I'm gonna get into the programming guide this weekend when I have time and see if i can get it setup to record series. I'll let ya know how I did on Monday!
By the way, what is your box - satellite? Tivo? cable?
mine is just Time Warner so maybe it doesn't have as many features as, say, the new Tivo Series 2 or whatever...

mine is the timewarner box too.
Things I don't like about it so far:
1.Only 30 hours of space. Thats why I want to dump it all on to DVD or tape.
2.FastForwards at a blazing 2 seconds at a time. They do that shit on purpose so that you end up watching the commercials anyway.
3. Can only record 2 things at a time. Basically, the DVR box is just 2 cable tuners and a hard drive.
Assuming I can get a DVD burner hooked up to it, I will have no complaints though. There are 2 output and one imput on the back, so looks like no big deal.

Imajica, good idea about the DVD burner backup. The TW box does get annoying when it runs out of space pretty quickly. And if you've got a similar TW box to mine (relatively new) try hitting the FF button more than once. On mine, if I hit FF it will advance about as slow as you're saying. But, you can hit FF 2 times and it goes into FFx2 or 3 times = FFx3 etc. Makes for much faster fast forwarding. Faster fast forwarding? That sounds stupid, but you get the idea.
