The chips from the movie Rounders! Well, some of them anyway. I am getting 20 of each denom plus 100 $100 Teddy KGB's and 100 $100 Chesterfields. I will post pics when they arrive.

Yes, they are the actual chips used in the movie.

That's them. The Chesterfields and the KGB's are different molds it looks like.
So the chips are different.

The sudden appearance of the Teddy KGB and Chesterfield chips both here and on eBay is starting to smell a little fishy. Caveat emptor.

I bought the ebay ones.

Just curious, how much did you buy it for? I'm guessing you messaged the seller to end it early.

I did message the seller to ask if he had anymore and ask how he aquired them to make sure it was legit (it is).
He said he had two more racks of 'high society'. One each from KGB's and The Chesterfield. He made me an offer I couldn't refuse . Let's just say it was not an insignificant part of my bankroll.
He was unable to tell me what happened to the rest of the chips but suspected they were in Damon and Norton's basements or something.

Not to call BS or anything - but what's to stop some civilian from just ordering a giant set of the same chips from pokerchips.com and simply selling them in smaller quantities on ebay (and making a fortune) ???
Now I'm not saying the ones you got from the seller are fugazi, but do you know if PC.com will custom make these for new customers? I know that they won't print anything copyrighted, but I doubt they would argue reprinting a picture of a bear and a made-up club... If anyone knows, it would be nice to know for 2 reasons - 1.) make sure people are not getting ripped off and 2.) if you CAN reorder these, hell maybe I'll get some for home games or people would do a group buy. I've already got the KEM cards, I could have the whole Rounders collection I suppose.

Good luck getting PC.com to give you anything other than three 1/2" edgespots. I doubt anyone can just get these made (check out the kgb group buy on the 2+2, they are going to use TR king for their chips)

B_Rock, good point about the edge spots.
Point me in the right direction for KGB group buy?

Double Eagle, thanks for the link. Seems like they started beginning of December and it's now February and they've made some progress - samples maybe? According to the later posts they've got about .80/chip which is a nice deal.
Anyone know TR King's direct website?
Posted Fri Feb 04, 2005 10:20 am GMT by B_rock
Haha, it's www.trking.com

I have seen very close up pictures of the chips and talked with the seller about his position on the set and how he acquired the chips. They are definitely PC chips. They are still packed in the boxes that PC ships their chips in (a scammer would really have to know his stuff to get the same boxes). I doubt anyone could duplicate PC method of chip construction well enough to fool me. I already own some the chips. Since PC will not do these edge spots for the public I am pretty convinced, not to mention that PC would not make the exact inlay for the KGB group buy even with three 1/2 spots.
I will know for sure on Monday I guess.

BRock, thanks for the site. I've visited there before, but it doesn't really seem to have good enough descriptions or pictures to be able to tell, although I've heard good things about the chips.
And messenger, once i considered the edge spots I agree there's a real slim chance they could have been faked. Also hearing that pokerchips.com won't reproduce the same exact inlay, they're in the original PC boxes, and so on. Sounds like you're gonna get some awesome chips! Definitely post an update after the weekend.

I finally got my chips!
I hope this works.
BTW, the seller informs me that the rest of the chips are archived in the Miramax warehouse.

Good buy! These are truely one of a kind, and will no doubt cause some serious envy among all of us.
Posted Tue Feb 08, 2005 5:08 pm GMT by messenger309
Once I get over how cool they are, I may break them down into 'collector sets' and sell them. As much as I'd like to keep them they weren't exactly cheap. They do not look like they have ever been used.

Posted Tue Feb 08, 2005 5:16 pm GMT by qheuie
wow. i love the chesterfields. the black and orange are awesome.
good catch, man
Posted Tue Feb 08, 2005 6:26 pm GMT by ott
It's the Roman mold.
Posted Tue Feb 08, 2005 7:29 pm GMT by messenger309
Actually the Chesterfield chips have no mold markings at all. I have a hi rez image but it is 650kb, probably too big for the forum.
