pokerchips.com and my custom idea |

it seems that it is common knowledge that pokerchips.com is not the quickest at sending out samples (but they are free so i can't complain too much).
this may sound like an odd request, but is there anyone out there near Minneapolis/St Paul, MN that has a set of pokerchips.com/ASM chips? I would really like to see them if possible. it would be nice to see and feel the stacks in person. so if there's anyone out there willing to let me fondle their chips, let me know!
i have been researching all sorts of chips for the past several weeks. this site has been a valuable resource and i thank you all for your input.
thus far i really like the chipco oyster casino and the nevada jacks desert sands chips for stock chips. i also like the nexgens/custom stickers idea but i think they are too heavy.
here are some ideas i have for custom chips as (you can ignore the pics of the oyster chips):

if i were to do this i would replace the Q of clubs in the royal flush with a 3 of diamonds or hearts, hence the "busted nuts"
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Bought some chips for my brother who lives in Minneapolis. (Custom horseheads with edgespots)
Shoot me an email and I'll send it along to him.

Food for thought:
Since you already have "color" in your design, i think if you did the cards in Hearts or Diamonds and the "busted" as the 2 of clubs it would give you a good contrast.

Grumbler,
thanks for the reply. that's a good idea for the card suits. i also think i might take the nuts off the picture and figure a way to put denoms on them. it will make them look less busy.
Faith,
i emailed you. thanks.

I guess you're not replacing the J 'cause you don't want to be a jackoff
Looks like the text wrapping needs a little adjustment... seems a little sloppy (maybe not the right word)?? Not trying to be too nit picky but it just looked like it needed a little refining... first impression anyways.

haha! good one.
yeah, the text is nowhere near perfect. it was just a preliminary concept. if i actually get the chips i will have the graphic artist fix it up. heck, they could start from scratch with my general concept if they wanted to.

Looks like you posted some other designs on that link... are you going to use it as a working copy? I'd choose a diff font for the denoms and use a smaller "$" with larger values.
Is the spade one supposed to look like a nut... or have a nut like appearence... hard to tell? I like the other designs better.

yeah, i am kinda experimenting with new desings and putting them up there. it's hard being a computer nerd
the spade one is not supposed to be anything like a nut. just a totally different design. i am still not totally set on what i want for the inlay.
you're right about the dollar sign, it's pretty overpowering. but i do kinda like the fonr.
so far i like the second and third design best. i am sure i will come up with another one that i like better. ha.
i will put numbers on the page so it's easier to comment.
thanks again for the input.
