Well on friday night I went to our weekly poker game. It was $25 buy in, with 5 players.
It started out pretty good for me, I played fairly tight because 2 of the people there I didn't know very well, and wanted to see their style. I picked up a couple small pots, and was doing decently.
After awhile I had a taken a decent chip lead. It was me and another kid decently out in front, when I got dealt K K . The player before me, (the person slightly behind me in chips) Raised a fair amount, I re-raised and he called. The other 3 players folded. The flop was A A K . I had made my boat on the flop, he raised about half his chips, I re-raised and he went all in. I called, and he flipped over A and 10 . The turn and river didn't help him at all, so I almost doubled up early on. It was one of my most memorable hands, he had 3 aces after the flop and I had a full house, pretty nice.
Needless to say with that massive chip lead I went on to win the game...fun night for sure.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Good. Nice to hear about someone having fun while playing poker LOL, it can get a little serious and/or bitter around here at times...

Yeah, I never understand that. I played in a $10/$20 game a few weeks ago, and I think I was one of two people that actually enjoyed being there. And yet these guys are regulars.
Nice work btw: I know with your Kings you're just praying an Ace won't flop... but aren't you glad the aces were there this time?

I always have fun playing poker.. especially when it's with close friends. Winning is just a bonus. LOL.. but it can get pretty competitive... but in the end everyone has a good laugh and a good time./quote
