let me give you a preface. its 2:30 am right now, and im just back from a 15 man 100$ buy in Home game tourney, no rebuys. They refused to raise the blinds until we were down to 6. SO after riding a shortstack, (probably 30$ of the original 100$) i start doubling up. Its down to 4, and im told top 3 make the cash, i take somone out, and the first hand of 3 handed "in the money" i get JJ, raise it big, 10x the bb, get a call. flop comes QJ10 rainbow, i check, dude bets 5x the pot, i decide hes protecting top pair top kicker, go all in, and he shows K 9, o well. Then when i get my money, i find out that for 3rd place, i get my buy in back! A lousy 8 hours total spent breaking even in a mind numbing harmony.
Now onto why im so baffled. As soon as i got home, 2, i opened up a nl 50 room (dont have near the bankroll to at the moment.) I make a couple bluffs, and am at whatever my stack is, and heres the hand, that i have no idea why i deserved to win.

Well first off it sucks that u got nothing for third place. Maybe u should have asked about the prize structure beforehand but u normally gain at least something for third.
On that hand u played later I aint gonna comment about either your play or your opponents play. Lets just put the fact that u won it down to the poker Gods smiling on u to make up for not getting your dues in the tourney.
Wouldn't play like it again though, next time u get burned .

15 person tourny and you only top two actually win anything?
That's silly.

It sure is. The local charity casino thing where I play live has 12 person single table tournaments. NLHE. Blinds double every 10 minutes. Short stacks. WINNER TAKE ALL.
I only play them when I'm feeling at my most masochistic.
You know what else is silly? That crazy Daniel Gildenlow and his pretentious Dream-Theater-Wannabe-Group.
