Received Nexgen Samples...

Posted Thu Feb 10, 2005 8:31 pm GMT by ky70
that's the good news. The bad news is I ordered 5 different colors (4 of the new look/colors and one of the old) of the River Poker Tour samples and the new orange 8200 series Nexgens, BUT the only correct chips that I received was the orange chips (which look really nice BTW). Instead of the River Poker Tour samples I requested, I received the regular Nexgens in the corresponding colors. Sad

So instead of the new RPT Black, I got the original Nexgen Black. Instead of the new RPT Green, I got the original Nexgen green, and so on.

I'm sure they'll make it right when I give em a call tomorrow.

I still was able to compare the feel of these Nexgens fresh out of the package to how my current set of Nexgens feel. And the verdict is...I can't tell the difference between the two. So either my "improve with play" theory is imagined or I received some "broken in" samples.

That's all for now. I'll report back when the correct samples are received.

No debate at all with customer service...the correct samples will be shipped today.

I can use the old samples to replace any of my current colors if they begin to show signs of wear.

I received my new NexGen and RPT 8002 series today and well the new NexGen's colors are fugly. The RPT chips are pretty nice with the real multi colored edge spots. They do however have some sort of paper or rubber material they use to make the different color edge markings not bleed into the other colors that is like a shaving that you need to removed from some of the chips. I have 2000 of the old Nexgen chips that I use for tourneys and still think they are probably the best cheap chip on the market right now. I have the chipco classic labels on all of them and they look real sharp. The RPT chips would be even better if they would have some slight color changes to the edge markings and add multi colors to the old red, blue and white chips. I wish the manufactures would give us some input in the designs, they are so close in making the perfect inexpensive chip!!!! I'll try to get some pics up of them asap.

Make sure you get pictures of the chipco classic labels on the nexgens...

Do you see any quality differences between the old nexgen "las vegas" chips and the RPT chips?

The NexGen and RPT chips are identical in feel, weight and color. I will get some pics as soon as my wife gets home from her vaca, she's got the digital camera.
