Indeed. I was looking at the site today and it's very promising. FREE SHIPPING on all orders? Wow. I really want to see more info on the "New" Vineyard chips and the Rounders replica chips (hopefully not the "Rounders Casino" chips that are already out.)

PaulsonChips, fill us in if you can?

Posted Fri Feb 11, 2005 10:08 am GMT by trogdoraoeu
Check the site again. The 'Coming Soon' image for the Rounders chip has magically been replaced with an image of the $500 chip. Hmm, it has crowns around the edges. I'm guessing the "NEW Vineyards" will as well.

I wouldn't recommend getting those Rounders chips for the kids -- oh wait, that's just part of the first 'n' in 'Coming Soon, nevermind.

Posted Fri Feb 11, 2005 10:15 am GMT by TGuns
Yeah, just checked it and saw the updated image. He must be literally updating the site as we are posting. So far, it's looking very good! Maybe we can see more pics and maybe pricing before the end of the day.

Posted Fri Feb 11, 2005 10:36 am GMT by trogdoraoeu
Looks like he has the standard "...manufactured by the top companies that supply chips for the Las Vegas Casinos" verbage, sans the "* applies to 1 out of 16 chips seen on the page" Smile I do like the colors of his tr kings so far. Looking forward as well to seeing the rest of them.

Posted Fri Feb 11, 2005 11:14 am GMT by PanthersHUTCH15
The Rounders chips are a replica of the chips from the movie Rounders, and they are part of a group buy going on at the 2+2 forums right now. I think PaulsonChips is in charge of coordinating the whole deal with Dennis.

These are not made by Paulson, rather by TRKing (my favorite chip company), which explains the crowns in the mold.

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=1338317&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=14&vc=1

There is a link to the Rounders group buy

Ah, those look pretty decent.

I can't believe he secured the rights to the "Rounders" design. I really can't believe that ASM never did anything with this. Can you imagine how many sets they'd sell of "authentic Rouncers" chips?

BTW if he makes chips that look like the ones in the banner up top of the home page, that'd be pretty cool.

Posted Fri Feb 11, 2005 1:41 pm GMT by PanthersHUTCH15
I think the only roadblock they ran into was that PokerChips.com (the makers of the chips for the movie) would not re-create the chips and said they never have or will. But, they did send the colors they used, and they then took that to Dennis at TRKing along with the design and he said okay.

I agree that a lot of money would have been made if they would have re-created these earlier. Also, it would be very smart of someone to do an authentic re-creation of the World Series Chips because those would sell like crazy!

Posted Fri Feb 11, 2005 3:05 pm GMT by trogdoraoeu
Is it just me, or does that Rounders bear look a little too excited?

Its not you, Its coming soon Wink

Posted Fri Feb 11, 2005 8:21 pm GMT by PocketRocket
Yeah, did you check out the prices. It's not a small wonder that the cost of shipping would be included, it looks like it has been built into the pricing several times already.

Hi everyone, The Rounders Teddy KGB Chips will be by TRKING. (should be out end of April)

However, the NEW Vineyard chips, that remains a secret. (Mid April) But I know you guys will like the new stuff.

I am also working on 3 other lines of chips that are of casino quality, so stay tuned.

I tried not to have so many "cheap" chips on my site, but there were requests for them. The cheap chips I am selling are the ones I feel are the better out of the bunch. BUT I STILL SAY STAY AWAY FROM THEM. But again, not everyone is ready to plop $1+ per chip.

As for the FREE shipping, the shipping is included in the price, but I think my pricing should still be competitive. (Copags at 15.99 shipped. not up yet Embarassed KEMS on its way.)

I was not going to make the site live until the end of the month, but I get too many emails a day and it was driving me nuts, so I said the hell with it and put it up.

This thread has become a giant can of SPAM. To all the MODS, I am sorry and I didn't start this! I was going to ignore it and not participate but I couldn't resist.

he did not "secure" the rights to these chips. it wasnt even his idea. go to the other forum and read all about the group buy. he is just facilitating the group buy because he lives in L.A. and keeps in close contact with Dennis from TR King.

my guess is that PaulsonChips is going to make his own mold, the suits mold and produce them out of the TRKing warehouse. remember a while back when he had that Design-A-Mold contest. well now its coming to fruition. (btw i wonder who won that and if they will be getting their free 500 chip set)

edit:i just noticed this off the website...
Our high end chips come off the very same machines and presses as the Palms, Paris, Bally's, Bellagio, Monte Carlo, Luxor and Mandalay Bay Casinos just to name a few
Well then heres hoping that they are paulsons!

I might be wrong, but if you look at the banner on his new site, there is a nice looking chip there with a suit mold. They look kinda like the Martini Club chip mold, but they are repeated without the lines. But, once again, I could be wrong. Either way, those chips in the banner look pretty nice:)

What's wrong with the bear? That is not what you think. It's part of the letter n in "Coming Soon". Get you mind out of the gutter.

I was just thinking it looked like a really scary bear. What were YOU thinking??

can Paulson/Ace Chips respond to this? im curious to know whats going on.

Posted Mon Feb 14, 2005 6:54 pm GMT by TGuns
Last I heard, the group buy for the KGB chips ended Sunday Feb. 13th. The chips were priced at .95c/each plus $10 US shipping for 700 or less. I think it is going to take somewhere around 6-8 weeks for them to get their chips, because they are not in production yet. I think PaulsonChips plans on putting the KGB's up on the website for approx $1.25 each and free shipping.

Not sure about the "New" Vineyards. Also, not sure but PaulsonChips mentioned starting a group buy for Chesterfield Club replicas after this one is all over with...

Good job Guns!
I am getting some of the KGB's. When I get them in a couple months, I'll throw pics this way. (I've always wanted to say that)

Posted Tue Feb 15, 2005 12:25 pm GMT by TGuns
aha, I was paying attention! (for once)

I'm in no rush so I'll probably wait to buy until I see more detailed pics/samples of the final KGB's, the New Vineyards, and maybe the Chesterfields.

PaulsonChips, I know you've got a lot of things going on right now, I thought of something for your site you might add for customers with all of these new chips you are going to have. Some sites have a "sample pack" that comes with variations of all the chips the website offers. I think the sample packs are good for customers because they get to see different chips and styles for a small cost, while the seller is essentially selling maybe a dozen chips for more than they cost in bulk, and developing good customer relations. Maybe you could put together a "value," "deluxe," and "high-end" sample pack selection because you have so many different chips. The value pack could have lower-priced chips only, the deluxe could have mid-range chips etc. I would buy the high-end pack so I could see the New Vineyards, KGBs, Chesterfields compared to one another. Just something I was thinking about on my lunch break...

Posted Tue Feb 15, 2005 12:52 pm GMT by PanthersHUTCH15
To add to that, I always find it appealing when not only are the sample packs offered, but they are taken off of the price of a full set if you decide to order.

For example, I buy a sample pack from you for 20 bucks, then decide I want to buy some of the KGB chips with would cost say 500 dollars for the set. But, since I ordered the samples for 20, that is discounted to make the total 480 dollars.

I'm sure you were thinking of doing something like this, but just thought I would add to TGuns

new Vineyards confirmed as Chipco!

not too thrilled about this. its too bad paulson/ace cant use his new suits molded clays and have the "Giant" (1 3/8") inlay. o and it looks look he has abandoned the "California" denomination colors ($5 yellow, $20 black, $25 purple, $100 white, etc.) in favor of traditional green for the $25 chip. very intersting development...

Posted Wed Feb 16, 2005 3:58 am GMT by ott
I still like it even though it's ceramic and not clay. I guess it's really the artwork that does it for me.

Posted Wed Feb 16, 2005 12:04 pm GMT by trogdoraoeu
Those are decent looking. PaulsonChips, did you buy the rights to the name? What's with the "... PLACE TO STAY" instead of "... PLACE TO PLAY"?

Posted Wed Feb 16, 2005 12:11 pm GMT by B_rock
Silly me.

I had a glimmer of hope that these would be TRK"S, and an even smaller shadow of a thought that somehow some strings could be pulled at such a high level to have this theme on one of the new Paulson mold chips fully customised to follow the graphics and colours of the Vineyard. Yes, I know that that isn't a possibility right now, but.... I have seen PaulsonChips er.. Ace come out with some extraordinary chips in large ammounts for sale! Who knows what kind of connects he has.

It's just a hope

Posted Wed Feb 16, 2005 2:08 pm GMT by MeridianFC
Outside of a mind bogglingly good design or ultra cheap price, why would anyone get premade ChipCos, when they do full custom or some preformatted semi customs through homepokerchips.com?

Posted Wed Feb 16, 2005 8:24 pm GMT by PaulsonChips
I have the rights to the logo and name.

The new chips will have the standard colors, because so many people complained about the off colors. And the size will ALL be 39mm.

The place to stay is a typo, that has been fixed. The chips will differ slightly from the preview pic that is listed on the site.

These Chipco Vineyards will have a limited run and will not be an open supply.

I actually don't really like Chipco chips, but I do own a couple of sets, I would recommend a clay set for anyone's first set, but again, thats just me.

I like the classic inlay clays the best.

And again, I have a couple of more tricks up my sleeve (something that hasn't been done so far....so I think....), so keep watch!

"I have the rights to the logo and name."

Nice!

Posted Wed Feb 16, 2005 11:51 pm GMT by ott
I hope they shift the "The" in "The Vineyard" over to the right a bit. It's too far left compared to the original Vineyard chips.

Posted Fri Feb 18, 2005 2:33 am GMT by PaulsonChips
its crazy how close of attention you guys pay to these chips, these are things I dont even catch!

But thanks for your inputs, those changes will be made!

Posted Fri Feb 18, 2005 3:08 am GMT by ott
Hehehe... just trying to help you get out a good product. Don't want to see you make changes after the chips have already been made.

Sometimes, I'm pay too much attention to the details.

Posted Fri Feb 18, 2005 6:10 am GMT by duma
ya u can cant on us to critique the the nth degree!

i also noticed the "The" was a little off center. another thing you could look at is the $ sign is a little too big and the font isnt the same. "Casino" text is also different. o and while were at it, the "Central Valleys place..." is written smaller on the original chip and in black text not white.

PaulsonChips wrote:

Yeah, really guys. Just shut up and pay $500 dollars for them and quit complaining:)

Posted Tue Mar 01, 2005 1:37 pm GMT by duma
i wonder why Ace/Paulson didnt order custom Paulsons with the Vineyard logo? or for that matter, what is stopping you from doing this now?

common sense IMO. new Vineyards with the new Paulson mold and colors, and a Giant Inlay. i think these would be the next evolution. i am not a fan of Chipcos.

Posted Tue Mar 01, 2005 10:10 pm GMT by PaulsonChips
Paulson does not allow you to change edge spot/ base color combos, and they do not allow a change in the inlay or mold size.

So it would be the EXACT SAME chip as Ithmus and Trademark Paulsons with a different inlay.

So it was "common sense" not to make 3 identical chips.

Posted Wed Mar 02, 2005 11:20 pm GMT by Gmack
the prices of the Paulson Vineyards have gone insane! Im glad I got them when I did.

Phil, any chance still offering that old "1.60 a chip discount for forum members?" Razz

Posted Wed Mar 02, 2005 11:35 pm GMT by PaulsonChips
Sure........... ($1.60 a chip)

But here are the conditions:

Only on $1/$5's
Ratio has to be 2:1
Only sold in 100 chips (and minimum is 600 chips)
Maximum is 1200 chips per person.
Shipping is FREE
No racks are included

And its only good until I end it!

Happy now?

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 12:23 am GMT by PaulsonChips
Here's a caution so you guys dont get mad when I ship em!

It will be shipped USPS priority mail. I will line in the box w bubble wrap, then
put the chips in there loose without racks or boxes.

Its the only way I can ship for such a low price!

Posted Sat Mar 05, 2005 4:57 pm GMT by breakbeat46
So what will the denoms be? Can you give more details such as the basic colors of the chips, will they be the traditional colors for the denoms?

Posted Sat Mar 05, 2005 5:11 pm GMT by PaulsonChips
The den will be .50,1,5,25,100,500,1000

The colors will be traditional. Proofs will be up soon.

Rounders expected ship date is 4/1

Vineyards is around 4/8

Oh well I guess I'm one of the few who use .25 chips since all most all of the new chips start at .50...Nice looking chips, I think Im a fan of giant inlays. Well I guess I could do .50/.50...

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 2:31 am GMT by PaulsonChips
no extra

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 2:32 am GMT by PaulsonChips
I actually like .25 den over .50. Its just so much more durable. But I had to stick to the tradition of the old Vineyards and use the .50.

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 4:20 am GMT by breakbeat46
Put my order in. i think there's something wrong with your paypal pricing.

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 5:10 pm GMT by jldecarlo
I look at the pricing and I think it's time for a small group buy for 5000 chips. $200 savings per person for 5 people at 1000 chips each - that's pretty substantial.

I really like this design but I'm reluctant to buy anything without seeing a sample first. To be honest, I am also considering custom chips as well.

Leonard

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 5:17 pm GMT by slowplayray
Wow, I gotta say those look pretty damn nice. I'll be interested in seeing pictures of the real deal. Just wish I liked ceramics...

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 5:27 pm GMT by breakbeat46
Yes i cancelled my order cause im worried that it wont be a full bleed like the wsop chips.

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 6:14 pm GMT by PaulsonChips
The Chips will indeed be not a FULL Bleed. It will be like all the regular chips.

And Im with you about the ceramic chips, Im not a big fan of them. My Ceramic to Clay chipsets in my collection are about 10:1.

I would suggest everyone to have a primary set of clays before they venture out into a ceramic set.

The reason I chose Chipco for these chips is because I dont think any other chip manufacturer right now can duplicate the elaborate designs of the original Vineyards. (The final Vineyards will also have a fade in color from light to dark in the background like the original chips.

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 8:57 pm GMT by Double Eagle
Could you please explain "full bleed." Thanks!

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:07 pm GMT by HELO
Full Bleed means there is no white band around the chip. The face and edge are connected.

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:38 pm GMT by slowplayray
PaulsonChips wrote:

How'd you pull that off with Chipcos?

Posted Fri Mar 11, 2005 9:43 pm GMT by PaulsonChips
Im sorry, I made mistake with the last post, I have edited it.

I have instructed chipco to make the chips to go as far as possible. They said they will do the best they can! So it may be half way.

Posted Sat Mar 12, 2005 3:54 pm GMT by PaulsonChips
The Pre-sale has been sold out! (Both Den AND NCV Vineyards)

All Pre-sale orders now will be alotted to the second batch that should arrive mid april instead of the 1st of April.

Posted Sat Mar 12, 2005 7:03 pm GMT by B_rock
Just out of curiosity, how large was your initial pre-sale?

Posted Sat Mar 12, 2005 7:30 pm GMT by PaulsonChips
30K of each style. I am thinking about limiting the total number of chips made so that there wont be that many out there.

Posted Sun Mar 13, 2005 3:53 pm GMT by duma
i was kind of hoping you would make the grapes all a different color on each chip like the original vineyards. doesnt look good to have purple grapes on purple background on the $500. looks good otherwise.

Posted Fri Mar 18, 2005 12:24 am GMT by PaulsonChips
I posted the wrong pics for the chips, the new one with a different background is up.
