in my quest to find my ideal poker chip i have amassed a pretty good sample set. this set includes some of the blue chip "fan of cards" chips.
has anyone else noticed that the royal spade flush of cards on the chip is not in order? it goes (left to right) A J Q K T
not that it really matters to me, i just thought it was kind of weird.

Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I heard that the cards were out of order to avoid copyright infringement.
The original Paulson fan of card's had it right, and Blue Chip remade them, but reordering the cards, to avoid an exact copy, and getting sued?

Nope. The Paulson version is backwards too.

Wow,
Went to that link,
This set is definately not for the high stakes cash game.
To think that Paulson would make a nickel chip?
Yeah, a nickel chip that costs nearly 2 dollars?

As soon as I get my hands on a camera, I'd be happy to do so. I'll try and get them up over the weekend. Only 3 denominations: $.25, $.50 and $1.

They're close, but the colors are different in the set I have: .25 are green, .50 are yellow, and $1 are a navy blue. Mine also don't have any spots on the rolling edge. I think they are "semi-custom" chips that were made for a retailer in my area.

I know, I thought about that one night when my Mom and I played some heads-up poker for fun. We bought in for $1, and got $10,000 in chips. You post a blind of $100 and you're really betting 1¢.
Wait, that's the opposite of what you're saying though...
Seriously, yeah, it is kinda weird playing with chips that have an actual real cost of $1 each, and their designated value is a nickel, or a penny. Seems like a pretentious waste of money. BUT, then try to imagine using real pennies, nickels, and dimes, stacking them 25 high (yea right). I remember playing with real coins when I was a kid. I didn't buy poker chips until I was about 22.

My father plays in a weekly game for the last 30 years.
If you want to play in this game, you better stop by Safeway first and buy a couple rolls of quarters.
I bought him some decent chips for Christmas,
needless to say, they didn't go over to well with the "regulars"

Needless to say,
Texas Hold 'em doesn't fare to well at this game either.
H/L split games only with the older gambino crowd

OMG, I know what you mean. About 6-7 years ago I had a weekly dealer's choice game. We played ALL kinds of games. But when it came around to Richard, he called "seven card stud, high low, with a shuck" every, single, time. He never wavered, he called that game round after round, week after week. Those words still ring in my ear.
And what was funny to the rest of us, is that every, time, it came around to him, he called the game as if we have never played it before. One week I just renamed his game to "Bob" to save syllables. It didn't matter to Richard. He'd still call it "seven card stud, high low, with a shuck."

Trade one card from your hand for fresh one off the deck.

Ahh, I get it. Before last betting round? I've been in games like this, usually costs money to trade in.

Kinda funny how all the youngsters have no idea of all the poker games that are out there. Texas Holdem quite frankly is f*cking boring.

I like holdem quite a bit but the game I spend most of my time at is dealer’s choice; the energy level is definitely much higher there.
