free poker chips?

Posted Fri Feb 11, 2005 2:19 pm GMT by capttrip55
Hi guys. I have a fairly cheap set of plastic chips that we use for our home game now and am interested in getting a decent maybe clay composite set but they are so expensive. I have seen a few sites that claim to offer free chip sets for signing up with say pacific poker or something. Has anyone did this or does anyone know any thing about it? Example sites include http://freechipset.com/ which gives 300 chip set. Anyone have any opinions or better ideas? Maybe where I can get a set of 300-500 for pretty cheap if you dont think the free ones are true.

Im sure everyone will agree that these look like very cheap, plasitc, slug insert chips. The reason they are free is because they get them for virtually nothing. I would recommend checking out www.pokerchipreviews.com for information, if you havent already. If you really want something cheap and your not concerned with looks, i would go with the 10gram Faux Dice chips. They blow away everything else in the price range.

I would second that comment. They don't look like much but they are way better than any other set. You can get a 300pc set for 29.99 and a 500pc set for 41.99 at www.5stardeal.com. For something a little more attractive the Nexgen series seems pretty popular especially with custom labels.

These are the same kind of chips as the free ones Capttrip55 was already looking at. By the time you pay the shipping (probably around $20) you've paid -way- too much for these chips.

You have to elaborate on what you want to spend. If you don't mind solid color with no graphics you can get real clay or ceramic for .35 and .25 cents per chip respectively.

Read the website carefully. Most of them require you to play a minimum amount of raked hands before you qualify for the free poker set. These poker sets are very cheap on ebay anyway.
