Color Ideas

Posted Mon Feb 14, 2005 1:24 pm GMT by Deakon
Could you guys tell me what you think? I wanted to use some colors that are going to a bit subtle. So I am thinking of only using two day glow colors for edge spots. The 500 chip is supposed to be a bit darker.

eh not too much my style but I have seen the yellow with dayglo pink and I was shocked at how atractive it is.

Also not my style of colors, but I think they will work well with each other if that's what you like (which is all that matters). The purple chip with yellow edge spots will look great I believe.

I like the color combos, especially the day-glo, the inlay needs some work though.

The black and purple chip look really good. In keeping with a consistent color scheme, the set may look better if you had brighter spots for the green and yellow chip. I personally like green with purple spots and yellow with pink spots.

It would save you some money to use the A Club and the A Spade and keep the inlays all black.

For the inlays, you can try making the background a lighter shade of the edge spot color, instead of white.

Thanks for all the tips so far. I forgot to mention the inlay way from a sample chip, I have no idea yet what I am going to do for an inlay, lol. But as far as the colors go, I appreciate the tips. I think I am going to change the green chip to have day-glow orange like what was mentioned about keeping with the other styles for the black and purple. I am thinking about going with something different for the yellow or ditching the yellow and go with a red chip instead. I wanted to keep the 25, 100, 500, 1000 standard colors, but I am not too sure about the yellow one. Thanks again for all the tips. Keep 'em coming!

My favorite color of chips is white with whatever color edge spots, and pink with black edge spots. You may want to consider one of those if you ditch the yellow.

Check out this thread for X-Files pics. He has some of the same color combinations that you mention. Also some comments about the day-glo orange.

His combo of green with day-glo pink looks pretty good

Thanks for all the input. The funny thing is that it seems like now that I want a custom set, some of the color choices have been done too many times. Here is what I am thinking about now. Still not sure about the yellow, I saw a yellow with blue edge spot chip before, but I am worried about the actual look of the yellow ASM uses.

They look very interesting. I always wish I could see them in stacks before really nailing down my choices. Someone write a program that does that? Wink

I don't care for the green having yellow spots... pink although pretty common is the way to go IMO. The others look good though.

You can check out this thread for the color combos on the Palmas Club chips. Green with arc yellow looks good and you can compare day-glo orange with day-glo peach on the black.

As for the yellow chip ask if they can do the body in day-glo yellow???

Posted Wed Feb 23, 2005 6:17 pm GMT by SpaceMonkey
They can do day glow yellow as a body color. That's what I'm doing. Smile They have some sort of disclaimer about how day glow bodied chips are more brittle, and thus not subject to their replacement policy.

If you want imperial blue for the edge spot with the yellow chip, I think Day Glow Yellow is the better choice. There are some other palmas pictures of the "normal" yellow $5000 chip with purple and grey edge spots that also looks nice. A darker yellow though (obviously :p ) I can dig up a picture and post it if you like.

I don't personally care for the green/DG yellow either. Green/DG peach is nice, like the Rounders chips. I'm going with Green/DG pink myself.
I like the black/DG orange. Purple/DG green haven't seen before, that should look pretty good.
