gets good reviews on amazon - thinking of getting this in addition to sklansky's advanced hold'em book.

So far so good, though I'm not very far into it. It's much easier reading than any of Sklansky or Malmuth's rambling. Don't put too much stock in the Amazon reviews, most of them are TwoPlusTwo.com junkies who love to kiss ass to the authors.

This book is very different from Super/System. That book teaches a very specific style of No Limit Hold'em. Harrington's book is more of a style-neutral explanation of how to approach the game and tournaments in particular. He doesn't discuss how aggressive or passive you need to be to win... he discusses what you should be thinking about before making a decision, and you can implement your own style after analyzing the situation. Doyle's book basically says you have to play a certain way to win. Harrington gives you lots of tools and lets you use them however you want. Tons of practice hands, too.
Again, I haven't read EVERYTHING nor have I put enough of it into practice to really say how immaculate it is, but 2+2 books tend to get a free ride based on reputation. The authors and their followers are pretty reluctant to admit that *gasp* their books, while good, aren't the be all, end all of poker. People have pointed out plenty of flaws in HEPFAP and other books, and people are already posting about flaws in this book, which Mason and David are quick to denounce as idiotic rambling... cause anyone that disagrees with something they publish is an idiot.
Anyways, immaculate or not, you can't get this kind of take on NL Hold'em anywhere else.
