Dolphin mold?

Posted Wed Feb 16, 2005 8:03 pm GMT by civiliste
I have a question to pose, (somewhat) on behalf of my wife:

I think, though I could very well be losing what is left of my sanity, that in the recent months I observed an image of a chip with leaping dolphins in the mold. It was very similar to the "Dragon" mold that is available at:

http://www.thepokerchipcompany.com/401_maroon.jpg

Does anybody know anything about these chips?

What I am specifically interested in is:

Who makes them?
What material are they (compression molded clay or injection molded plastic)?
Are they available for customization (even just hot stamping)?
What do they cost?

If anybody can answer ANY of these questions, or even point me to a picture so as to settle my personal paranoia that I am, indeed, losing my mind, please respond here.

Thanks for reading
-Zak

thepokerchipcompany.com makes them, they are think plastic chips, not worth it at all, very cheap.

However, PCC makes the BEST injection molded chips in my opinion.

Thanks for your reply,

I browsed the site (which, btw, took forever...are they serving across a phone line??), and only saw the dragon mold, no dolphins.

Any other leads?

Thanks for your help, PC, but I just can't find em there Sad

More info on this page:

It's the last one on the page. I'd love to get a small set of these too, because my wife just "flips" for dolphins.

I thought you were talking about the Dragon chips! I didnt know you were asking about the dolphins chips!

Sorry about the confusion PC. I appreaciate the info.

TP: Yeah, that's the very place I saw them! Thanks for the link. At $4, though, I don't think she'll be getting them.

For some reason, I was thinking Matsui had a mold like that, but I must be mistaken, as they don't have one on their site.

I'm wondering if maybe Dolphin Products over in Victoria, Aus has a dolphin mold. I'll inquire and see.

Thanks for all the 411,
-Zak
