HELP! i cant win even playing with my "very loose"

Once a week me and my buddies play a NL Hold'em Tourny... its a 5$ buy in and we get usually around 10 dolla in chips.. with the blinds starting at 10 and 20 cents. Theres usually 2 tables of 6 or one of 8...

All my friends are loose players that play every hand... Theres an average of EVERYONE to see the flop. Unless they got a 7 Heart 2 Club . Im the only one who seems to play only the better hands and fold the others. My nickname is Texas Fold'em. But thats just because they all play too loose.

They always hate how i play since im more of a "tight" player. I'll raise with the big hands and occasionally limp in. I do not know how to read people (HELP). But i feel i am not easy to read myself. Most of the time i make it to the final table and eventually the Final 4. But then.... I just cant seem to win.. i usually get third (my money back)

I need some help on how to play when it gets down to 3 or 4 players and they are all very loose and bluff semi-often even when it was an 6-8 person table.

--were only 16 and most of my friends just play for fun and to get lucky. I seem to know what im doing more than any of them. It seems i should be dominating. But I AINT!

Ok, a few issues present themselves:

Reading players - sounds like a bit of a nightmare in your game as they are all so loose but over time, since you are playing the same guys every week, you ought to be able to pick up some tells on them. Really study their actions and then the cards they flip and start taking mental notes, eventually you are gonna see something you can capitalise on I'm sure.

Final 4 play - this may be like teaching your granny to suck eggs so I apologise in advance if so but even as a tight player, you need to start relaxing your starting hand requirements and start playing hands you would not play 6 or 8 handed. These include most pocket pairs, suited connectors 9 and above, Ax 9 or higher unsuited and maybe more suited and maybe even some Kx suited hands. As the number of players falls, statistically it is less likely that someone will have a hand that beats yours if you are dealt a nice hand like AQs or something. If you constantly fold waiting for a premium hand, you will be paying too many blinds and simply waste away instead of consolidating your stack to take a run at first. This is also an excellent time to break out those reads you have gained and start praying on weaknesses. You also want to be bullying the short stacks to try and reduce the field further.

Ok, so that's a bit rambly but it's all good stuff so try it out and see what happens Smile
