I have already received some payments, some are on the way. I am hoping to have the order placed by this weekend, but the ABSOLUTE DEADLINE for me placing the order is Wednesday, March 16th. It is likely it will be placed this weekend though, assuming all money orders arrive on time. For anyone who still wishes to get in, you must contact me at PaulsonGroupBuy@hotmail.com ASAP to arrange everything.
I will be away on business until 2:00pm tomorrow, March 10th. I will not be able to answer any emails until that time.

talk to trademark poker also. i believe they are the ones bringing these to market and dice702 got them from trademark. could be wrong but why else would apachepoker chips have a link on the trademark site. I dont want any these though.

I'd be in for 500 if the price is a bit lower and it was kind of soon. Which inlay? I prefer the Isthmus one since it's a little less generic and it has a history to it.

dice sells 5000 for .92 cents each. if u notice each increment decreases by 8 cents. So if u get 10,000 chips my guess is that the price will be .84 cents each. thats only 10 people buying 1000 chips or 20 people getting 500. if u can somehow manage to buy 20,000 chips, then im quite sure the price will be lower than .75 cents each, probably closer to 70 cents.

FYI: Trademarkpoker is the official distributor for the new paulsons home chips, as stated in an email from paulson to confirm what was said in an earlier post above.

I just spoke with a Trademark poker rep who is in the know. TM is the official distribututor of the new Paulson Home chips that much is true. Apache bought at least 100,000 chips through trademark and did his own custom replica of the James Bond Chips through Trademark. TM will still have there own version of the new home paulson chips as shown on the mockups on there website. The bad news is trademark had some problems with the artwork and the release date is now pushed back even farther than stated.
Duma, You would have to buy at least a 100,000 chips to get the price in the .70cent range according to the gentleman I spoke with. I assume 5000 chips at .92 is going to be the best price any of us will see.

The Trademark inlay looks a $hitload better than the James Bond inlay. Hopefully you plan on getting the Trademark chips and not the James bond for the group buy.

at this point it sounds like we are:
1) playing the waiting game until the second "version" of the new chips is completed
2) anticipating getting a price of $.92 per chip as long as we hit 5,000 chips for the order.
who is leading the charge here? sounds like Mr Meaner or Nugzy?

Maybe a little sanity check is in order here. Why in the world would anyone want to pay 60¢ upwards for a nickel or quarter chip? Even the 10gr faux clays from Trademark are at 6-8¢ apiece. If you want to play a penny game, just use the denominated $ chips $5 for .05 cents, $25 for a quarter, and $100 for dollar chips.

Probably a good idea to see what Trademark/5star/pokerchipshopping is going to do in retailing their chips on their web sites since often have pricing at 40-80% off of their 'retail' price.

so when are we getting this thing started...every time i see these chips the more i like them. the colors are perfect! still not liking the small inlay but they color is better than any other chip i have seen.

It seems like these group buys always take longer than expected. Let's get this started asap. Trademark is not expecting to get the paulsons in until 5 weeks from now, which would be the end of March or beginning of April. I'm fine with ordering the paulson bond chips from apache/dice702.

i agree they take a while but theres no good way for a quick group buy. once you actually get a price breakdown, you have to give some time for people to get in...decreasing the time only means less people, therefore higher price per chip...

i would be willing to buy ~300
still not thrilled about he inlay size though. and the fact that the edges are all the same. i like each chip to have different edge spot sizes. looks too cluttered here. but o well i guess if they paulson feel thats what matters most.
my question is though, how is shipping costs going to be handled. we would obviously have to pay for shipping to the Guy in Charge who gets all the chips shipped to him, then pay again for shipping to our houses. getting f*cked twice.

I also thought the inlays looked out-of-proportion in close-up photos, but have you seen circlencircle's "Paulson...Table for eight." pics? The chips look fantastic in the proper context, IMHO. The inlays somehow look bigger.
I'm coming up on the big "four-oh" and "the boss" says I can ask for a special "big" birthday present--hmm, I'd be up for a thousand of these for a nice price.

i am guessing that all of you that are "in" for xxx chips want the james bond version that is already available from dice702, correct?
maybe there should be a new thread specifically for ordering those chips. then when the "new version" comes out from trademarkpoker there can be a different group buy there.
i called and spoke with the owner of dice702 today and he said that the price for 5000 chips is $.92 each. If we pay by check/money order/cash he will pass a 2% discount on to us(the savings for not having to process the credit card). This puts the price at $.90 per chip plus shipping.
The shipping from dice702 for 5000 chips is ~$130 ($.026 per chip). This brings your price to $.926 per chip plus "re-shipping".
That means you will pay $463 plus shipping for a set of 500 chips. ~$1 per chip.
SOOOO... in a nutshell, one of us has to place the order (like Ten did with the egyptians, i believe) and receive all the chips and redistribute. I will be willing to do this, but I have no way to accept payments at this point. I assume there is some kind of escrow service (paypal?) that we could do this through, but I will have to do some research. Ten, how did you go about colloecting money from people?
If I reship I will charge the actual shipping cost back to each person on top of the $.926 per chip from dice702. This will include the price of re-packaging the chips.
Now you know how much it will cost you for the chips.. $.926 each plus shipping. As an example, it will cost me just under $28 to FedEx 2 day 500 chips to Chicago, IL from Minneapolis, MN (my location)
suggestions on how to proceed?

on a funny sidenote, the owner from dice702 told me that if i ordered 5000 chips this week he would deliver them to my hotel room for free while i am there next weekend. haha. not sure i could sneak those into my carry on

yes. he mentioned that the price at 10,000 was $.90 per chip. I am assuming he would give us the 2% discount for check/money order on that, too. Probably be around $.88 per chip. If we get to the 10,000 point I can certainly ask him. I wouldn't worry about it until then, though.

2 things I would suggest: 1, Have someone pick the chips up in Vegas. Saves the group $135. There must be someone in/near Vegas willing to do this.
2. Plan on shipping (the second shipment to individuals) using Fed Ex Ground. I've shipped out several thousand chips recently using that service and I haven't had any problems. It's nearly as fast as 2-day (I was seeing 3 and 4 days to go cross country), and it is MUCH cheaper than Express or even UPS Ground. Some people will undoubtedly want to pay extra for Express, but Fed Ex Ground is a really great yet inexpensive service.

i checked how much it would be to ship the chips back to myself if i pick them up in vegas next weekend and it would be a lot more than $135.
gotta remember, 5000 chips is just about 110 pounds (assuming the chips weigh 10 grams each). last i checked fedex didn't take home deliveries over 70 pounds.
to me, $135 doesn't seem like too much for shipping 5000 chips. 2.6 cents per chip.. you would save $13 on a 500 chip order.
i agree about the fedex ground. i have used them a lot for ebay auctions. they are very reasonably priced and pretty quick. plus there is a hub drop site 1 mile from my house
bottom line is people need to decide if $.926 per chip plus shipping is what they consider "the right price"

Considering a boardmember paid $585 for a set of 500 delivered ($1.17/chip) I would consider $.926/chip + shipping the "right price" for my anyway
I think we need to get a rough estimate on what shipping will work out to be ($.??/chip)

I posted a new thread to serve as the official ordering place for the group buy. As far as shipping and other matters, we can discuss that here.
As far as shipping goes, it would be AWESOME if someone in Vegas could pick the order up and serve as the leader. But if not, I am more than comfortable with getting them shipped to me and reshipping. I can pay for the chips via Check/Cash/Money Order to get the discount, so consider the $.926/chip price correct. Also, I dont think shipping should come out to more than $20 per order.
I went on FedEx.com and got an estimate of ~$15 for the shipping weight and package dimensions. That was for shipping from 33759 (My location in FL) to 90210 (CA). So cross country its only $15. I dont see why it would be more than $20 anywhere.
As far as payments, if I am to serve as leader for the deal, I can accept Money Orders and PayPal. With PayPal, I CAN NOT accept Credit Cards. Only bank transfers or transfers from your PayPal account.

love the chips...have a couple of samples but now want a full set...my issues with the small inlay have disappeared and in a way understand where they were coming from...even if it seems like an afterthought...

I actually called trademark last week. They told me that they are a wholesaler to Apache, 5star and others. That explains things a bit.

Very cool of you to offer..... I would think that it would either:
a) unnecessarily complicate things
or
b) not save any money
If you don't live near the guy doing the money/ordering than you would still have to ship it to him leading to (b)
The only other option would be for him to relay shipping addresses etc to you and send you money to cover the shipping from the money on the buy....leading to (a)

Just noticed something on Dice702's website. I should have noticed this before. It is not possible for someone in Las Vegas to get the chips from the guy because Nevada sales as subject to taxes. $354.75 to be exact.

i use this spreadsheet to figure out how many of each chip i will need for a specific tournament. i usually only use $25, $100, $500, and $1000 chips for tourneys.

also, when you put your "order" in the order thread i suggest we all follow a consistent format for declaring your denoms. it will help make sure the orders are accurate. how about this:
i would like 500 total chips in the following breakdown:

it seems like this will be easier to read than a paragraph or few sentences.

I would be interested in a group buy, but I would rather wait until the other set comes out. I know people are in a rush to get these, but I hope there will be a chance to do a another group buy so that both chips can be looked at before making a decision. I can't help being too picky, but I am curious to see how the other inlay will turn out.

Deakon, if you are worried about the size of the inlay, the Trademark chips coming out have the SAME SIZE inlay. Personally, I dont like the Trademark inlay design too much, thats why Im going with the Dice702 chips. After I see the Trademark chips, I may change my mind and decide to get a set, in which case I will set up another group buy.

Does anyone have any recommendations about which denoms NOT to get? I know most people say don't get a $10 if you have $5 and $25 but this set does not have $10....any other input on what NOT to get?

if you are only going to play tournaments i would stay away from the $.50, $1, and $5 chips they are best for cash games. although, you can use the $5 for tournaments if you start the blinds at $5/$10. that means you will have to color up sooner, though.
I like to start my players out with around 3500-5000 in chips with the blinds at 25/50. that makes for a good few hour game for up to 12 people. i usually make the rounds 30 minutes and decrease them to 20 later in the game. for larger games i just lenghten the rounds but keep the starting chips anb blinds about the same. (provided i have enough chips )
it's kind of an acquired taste, but i like using that spreadsheet to make sure i have enough chips to supply the whole game and leftover chips to color up each color later in the game. just play with the numbers, you'll find a pretty good balance for your "normal" game

Why would we pay Nevada tax? Couldnt it be bypassed just by placing and paying for the order with an out of state zip? Is there a benefit for someone picking up the chips?

No, it's not the size of the inlay I am worried about. I am aware that it will be the same. My concern is missing out on this group buy because I would rather wait to see the other one to make a decision. I would hate to get a set of these and find out I would have rather gotten the trademark style.

I believe (not positive), as long as the order is placed online with an out of state address, pickup does not result in NV sales tax.

Hmm, I hate to disagree with you, but I don’t think the BPC chips are ANYTHING like the Paulson’s IMHO. Aside from the fact that they weigh so much less. The sound and feel is dramatically different. I won’t even get into the quality difference. To each his own though; the BPC are nice, don’t get me wrong, I almost bought a set as a matter of fact..

i think you're right.
my initial impression was that they felt just like the BPC's when i first got them. kinda chalky and a little rough around the edge. then i played with them at work all day today and they absolutely have a different sound and feel. i think the BPC's click and the Paulsons clank (maybe clunk). they almost sound muffled versus the BPC's. might have something to do with the weight.
as for inlay, i think i like the smooth surface of the paulsons over the somewhat textured surface of the BPC.
both nice chips. i think the quality to value ratio contest is won by the paulsons. (especially with the price in the group buy)

I would like to have this order placed by Saturday morning, although realistically I know that probably wont happen. We are almost at our goal of 5000 chips. I am considering ordering approx. 1000 chips, but there is no way i can make that decision by this weekend.
I have ordered samples from dice702 after seeing all the hype surrounding these chips, and they are in the mail. There is no way i can spend a better part of $1000 without handling the samples first.
The price you've quoted sounds good (~$0.92/chip + shipping) if the chips are in fact all in...er..um...i mean all that ...

Thanks for pointing that out, I will edit that to avoid any further confusion. You can only sign up to one of the other. So I would recommend the Casino On Net.
As far as how I am able to afford that, heres the deal. I am an affiliate of both Casino On Net and Pacific Poker. They pay me for each person that signs up using my link. They will currently pay me $150 for a sign up. So I give you $100, I get $50, and everyone is happy. It really is a good deal. $100 off of a set of 500 chips would bring the price down to $364! I would highly recommend taking advantage of that deal. The $50 I earn wont make or break me, but it is a good deal for both of us to further lower the price of these Paulson Chips.

I just got my samples about two hours ago, and, well, I couldn't put them down for about an hour! These are so nice, I'm going to have to rethink my chip breakdown, because now I want to get a decent quantity of every denomination, instead of just the ones I'd most likely use (like $5, $25 and $100). Well, I'm turning the big four-oh this year, and she has some stock options to exercise, so this is the only big toy I'm going to get until I turn 60, probably! I figured if I got a new computer--how long would that last? Maybe 5 years, tops. New TV? Maybe 10-15 years. But these chips--I expect that a grandchild of mine will be able to use them one day, and my son is only 3 right now!

I don’t know if I am rehashing an old post but here’s a heads up on Shipping.
The USPS has a Priority Mail special shipping Flat Rate Box, I think this is new but could be wrong. The price is $7.70 for two different size boxes. Its one price regardless of weight for delivery anywhere in the US and the box is included. All you will need is the packing material which could be anything from paper to Bubble Wrap. I am almost positive a 1000 chips or more could fit into the 11” X 8 ½” X 5 ½” box available for this Rate. Its just a heads up, this can save on shipping costs and keep the overall cost per chip down.
I am very interested in getting in on the Paul-son Chip buy as well. I ordered sample Chips on Sunday, I should receive them soon and will post my order if I like the chips. If I do like the chips I would likely order 300 - $25.00 chips

The only issue I have about this is I would feel more secure having UPS's or FedEx's tracking accountability vs. the Postal Service's (which is weak, IMHO)--each of these boxes could be worth close to $1000, so it would be a disaster if they lost it.

Its settled, we are using UPS (NOT USPS) for shipping. I feel comfortable using UPS, as I have never had any problems with them in the past. In fact, whenever Ive ordered something online via UPS Ground, it has been on my doorstep within 3 days.

2005 JB chips's small inlay is the same size as the inlay from Sample 1 (leftmost). If they just could have used the inlay from Sample 2, the Paulson Chips mold wouldn't matter as much. I'm wondering if Trademark decided to get the larger inlay like the one in Sample 2.

I agree. If you're paying this much for clay, why cover it up with a larger inlay? I still think it would be a small improvement to have some sort of decoration around the inlay (some texturing or something), but only small. After having gotten samples and having seen how the surface of the inlay is exactly flush with the surrounding surface, I think that the inlay fits in with the overall chip much more so than I did looking at the pictures. I actually cancelled my order and then re-ordered after ordering samples. IMO the colors and the feel blow the pants off of trk's (the only thing I have to compare them to, other than cheepos).

Hey, sorry for the late reply, I've been out of town.
It pains me to say this, but I haven’t gotten to play with them yet. Between this resent trip to Indiana for work and my regular group having some things come up we haven’t had a game since I got mine. What a waist huh?  I shuffled a small stack for a few hours and they started to break in nicely but then I decided I wanted to just wait, let them all get broken in evenly at my next few games and give everyone a chance to feel them "brand new".
I look at them a few times a day and usually take a few out and play with 'em for a few seconds just to hear them. I like them more and more all the time. As far as the whole inlay debate, the size has grown on me tremendously and I wouldn’t change it if I could at this point. The James Bond inlay is neither good nor bad in my book. It has a timeless quality (very important to me) but isn’t stunning by any stretch so while it doesn’t nock your socks off, it will still look good in 50 years.
I know most people have samples by now and even though it’s been said over and over -- I have to say the feel of these chips is simply stunning and I am proud to have them. I may even jump on board with TenPercenter's group buy, if I like his design; what I really need at this point is a good cash game set however.

Ok, well I finally got some play time with them. First off, everyone loved them; I heard "wow", "I love these chips!" and "How much did you say they cost!?" over and over... As for how they held up... Like champs! No issues with colors rubbing off or anything like that. There was lots of pot splashing and attempted chip tricks gone awry that sent chips falling off the table and onto the floor with no damaged. I only bought ten $1000's and spent a couple days shuffling them while I was working on the computer. They have really worn in well. The color has developed a bit and they shuffle like a dream - just enough grip with no hang ups at all. The sound has changed to a slightly higher pitched "click" but it’s almost undetectable unless I take a stack that hasn’t been used right along side the $1000's and compare the sound. In short - they're great. I would definitely say that after they have had time to soak up some hand oils and sweat they would be less likely to mark each other up but like I said I am letting it all happen naturally so I can't say for sure. There is no doubt they are one of the softest chips I've felt.
Oh and not one comment about the label except "What is Casino De Isthmus?".

I just off the phone with Dice702. Since most people chose to pay via PayPal ECheck, I had to wait for them to clear. Most cleared yesterday, some today. All EChecks are cleared, and I have initiated a transfer of the funds to my bank account. The second the funds clear, I will be at the bank sending the money order! Dice702 said the moment he gets the money order he will send out the chips via FedEx Ground. The reason we have to wait for this money order process is because we opted to get the 2% discount for not using a credit card. I havent been on the forum as much as I would like lately, because Im always on the go. I try to check my email at least once an hour, so I will respond to questions/comments much faster via email. On a side note, has anyone ever dealt with Pacific Poker's Affiliate Program before? I ask because I just joined with them. Since most people opted to sign up to get the discount, I am now crediting a large amount of money to the order. 888/Pacific Poker dont pay me until April 15th, so I am contributing a large sum of money to the order so as to not delay it any longer. If 888/Pacific Poker decide to cheat me, and make up some excuse as to why they wont pay me the money, I will be out quite a bit of money. To be exact, around $2000. cant wait to get my chips! unfortunately, i have really built them up amongst my friends and the waiting only makes it worse.i doubt that I/they will be let down though.

A bit over 6,000. And no, there wasnt a big price difference. The difference per set of 500 was pennies. If you would like a refund via PayPal of a few pennies, I would be more than happy to do so, lol.

So...Nugzy sent the order (I believe overnight) to Dice702 on Monday the 21st. This means that Dice702 received the money order Tuesday or Wednesday, then hopefully sent out the chips on Wednesday the 23rd via Fedex Ground. Since Dice702 is out west and Nugzy is in Florida, I would assume they will be in Nugzy's hands by Monday the 28th or Tuesday the 29th. If Nugzy gets them sorted and sent on the day he receives them (which would be great and we would appreciate it), we can expect to see the chips HOPEFULLY anywhere from Thursday the 31st through Tuesday April 5th.
This is just my estimation if everything goes well.

how about if we make time go slower and FedEX go faster
my experience with FedEX is that they overestimate and deliver early. I ordered an LCD monitor on monday afternoon this week and got it at wednesday at noon. not as far as vegas to florida, but still.
on the flip side, UPS will estimate a date and it it looks like it will be early they actually keep it at the distribution center until the estimated delivery day. STOOOPID.
can't wait to get them.. i have a special place made up for them in the poker room.

The fastest cheap service I used was the flat rate USPS box. For $7.70 you can stuff whatever you want in it as long as it fits in the box. I shipped 18lbs of stuff cross country from NYC to Seattle and it took 2 days. I think the box will fit 1000 chips w/ packing materials (no racks tho) easy.

Forget USPS for this--I'll spend the extra money to have good shipment tracking. After all, we are talking about thousands of dollars of merchandise here. I once shipped a $500 watch band via Registered Mail (supposedly their most secure) and it got "lost" for almost a week after it had arrived at the destination Post Office--it was just sitting on some shelf somewhere. The guy I was shipping to said it was his experience that Priority Mail is actually better (I think some unscrupulous postal workers might get more curious about something shipped and insured via Registered Mail).

I always hear horror stories about USPS losing packages but I've never experienced it myself. I guess they're prone to leave packages at the door. Of course, I live in an apartment building w/ a doorman to receive packages. USPS is cheap using certain services and faster (though tracking is horrible), but I guess it's better to be safe w/ thousands of dollars worth of chips.

I would love to get a knock on the door early next week from the FedEx guy! Thursday is too long of a wait! About USPS, I will NOT be using USPS to ship. I will be using UPS, which I feel is quite reliable. Everyone paid $16-$20 for shipping, they will get what they paid for.

Houston, we have a problem. A BIG problem.
The order arrived today, but it was 685 chips short. Also, at least 5-10 of the chips that did arrive were broken. Ive been on the phone with Josh from Dice702, and he is making a claim with FedEx. It is clear that the boxes were tampered with. It looks as though three of the boxes actually broke, and then were retaped from FedEx. There is GPI logo tape along the box saying "If this seal is broken, etc, etc.". On three of the boxes, it is broken on the bottom and heavily retaped. The tracking information also seems to indicate it was a problem with FedEx. This is from the tracking information of the three boxes that are damaged...
"12:31 pm : Shipment Exception : Orlando, FL : Barcode Label Unreadable and Replaced"
That is only in the tracking information of the three damaged boxes, the box that was ok did not have that note. I will update tomorrow after I speak with Josh. I have not yet decided how this matter will be handled. I will likely send out all the orders I can, with only one or two being delayed. The hard part is deciding which orders get delayed.
Again, I will update later with more information. I will also post pics of the chips that did arrive.

I have the worst luck in the world and I'm sure if I had not been involved with this it probably wouldn't have happened  Seriously though, I hope whoever took those missing chips is enjoying them. Don't feel bad about this either Nugzy, this crap happens alot I'm sure. Unfortunately for all of us it happend. I hope someone steps up (fedex) and takes care of this problem. I really feel for you Nugzy, now you have to deal with all of this and make a tough decision on who gets chips now and who gets them later. Feel like leading another group buy soon?

Also I think it's important to take some pics of the damaged boxes/chips to document the incident so at least you'll have some records.

I have already taken tons of pictures of the chips and of the boxes. I cant post the pics right now cause my wife left the USB cable at her parents house. I will have the pics up tomorrow. Dice702 was very helpful, I thought he may accuse me of trying to steal the chips! Although only 685 chips were missing, and only 10 were damaged (that Ive looked at), he rounded up and is making the claim for 750 chips. It really looks like the boxes were broken at the bottom, and the chips fell out of the boxes, and then were shoved back in and retaped. Will update tomorrow with pics of the chips and the broken boxes, once my wife gets the USB Cable from her parents.

The chips were probably stolen from some punk kid who works in the sort. It happened every once in a while at UPS. We had metal detectors that all employees had to walk through on the way out but if there is no metal then they can walk right out with them.

If the packages were broken on the bottom, they were either dropped or poorly packed. They should be packed properly for something as heavy as all those clay chips.

I just got a call from a woman with FedEx. She said she found some poker chips. She told me the box had spilled in the back of the trailer. They are being delivered to me tomorrow. The bad thing is, she didnt finud all the chips. She said she found about 6 boxes. There were 685 chips missing. We'll see when they get here how many are still missing.

Finally the forums are back!
Most orders shipped today, with the exception of 3. Those will hopefully be shipping tomorrow, assuming FedEx delivers the missing chips today like they promised they would. For those whose orders shipped, you should have your tracking number in your email.
I really got killed with shipping. I underestimated the price of shipping via UPS. I will have to adjust accordingly next time (more info on "next time" later).

Has anybody's confirmation number worked yet?? I get an error when I try mine, not sure if this just means that it has not been scanned yet...
Also, on the website, it says something like

Mine didn't work 2 hrs ago but it does now. Yes there's an E somewhere in the #. Give it another couple of hours for UPS to scan it into the system. Mine was scanned in Clearwater FL at 7:16PM.

Interesting development - It says signed w/ my doorman's name, so I guess it's delivered. Good thing I've been obsessively refreshing the tracking all day long and found out the error in time and called UPS. They sent a message to the driver right away and told him my Apt #. He was probably in the area and went back to drop it off.
And now I rejoice.

I had a small group of buddies over tonight to break the chips in. The chips are packaged in factory boxes of 100 with bubble wrap around all the boxes and then newspaper stuffed in the shipping box full so nothing has a chance to rattle around. I purchased 500 and not a one was damaged. Great job on packing Nugzy!! I didn't have time to really take pics between gawking at the chips and then having a little game, but I will take some tomorrow and post. By the way, I had never seen this chips before in person until today and I was blown away. NJ skulls were the best I had before these and I wouldn't go back to them after playing with paulsons. I thought the inlay not matching would bother me, but it isn't even a factor in person. Awesome chips.

Yes, seeing these in person makes all the difference. Especially when you compare these to the old Blue Chip versions. The Blue Chip ones look like they were made by monkeys--it isn't even a competition. And I think the Casino de Isthmus inlay is kind of cool in that it looks like money--the government seal and all.

Well I went ahead and took some pics, my batteries died on me though so I didn't get that many, and my cameras so complicated I really didn't get that good of quality on all the pics. It changes settings all the time and some pics are nice and others blurry and dark. Anywho, here's a link to check out the chips, I'll try to get some more tomorrow. Enjoy. :D

Sigh, I got the chips but there was 1 missing chip ($1) and 1 damaged chip ($25) out of my 70 chip sample order. I guess it just isn't my day today. I'll have to get that straightened out.
At first I noticed there was something weird w/ the $25 chip stack, then I thought it might be a warped chip. On closer inspection, there is a crack on it. It's easy to miss, and I'm sure Nugzy tried his best to filter all of them out.
It's a bit hard to see on the pic, but there's a hairline crack on the right that goes around the inlay circle. A little bit of force would break the chip right in half. When I drop the chip slightly on a hard surface, it makes a very dull sound as opposed to a normal crispy sound.

I had no doubt Nugzy would correct the mistake - and of course he said he will send me replacement chips and apologized profusely about the matter. He is very professional about it too.
I don't think others have gotten any cracked chips or we would have heard about it. Like I said, the crack on my chip was hard to see among a big stack.

I got the chips yesterday afternoon. I was not home until 5, so I didn't get my hands on them until then. They were packaged with newspaper and the original white boxes...they weren't going anywhere.
These chips are awesome IMO. It is much more convincing to have stacks of them rather than 8 samples. I had the exact right amount of chips, none were damaged, and they were packaged great!!
I hope all goes well for everyone..I would take pics but I don't know how to post..Already tried using imageshack, but I must be retarded.

Glad you all are pleased and things went off without a hitch. I just wish I knew what was goin on with my chips. I havent heard a thing. No message that mine were sent. Nothing. I'm sure everything has already been taken care of but, it would be nice if I wasnt the only one out of this group buy that hasn't heard a thing.

for the peeps that haven't received your chips... have any of you heard from nugzy in the past week? last i heard from him was on the 6th in an email in which he said my chips were packed and ready to be shipped the next morning. since then i have sent him several emails asking for a tracking number and/or status with no reply.

Last I heard from Nugzy was the 6th as well.
However he sent me my tracking number then and a I received my chips yesterday.
UPS really did a number on the box, however Nugzy packed them very well so nothing was damaged.

apologies for the quality..still doesnt do these chips justice..
the newness of them is unreal...even with the slick inlay, they
stick together like no other, (due in part to the razor sharp edges,which some people seem to want to get rid of ,and ill admit it does take the smoothness out of shuffling, but i am sooo going to enjoy letting the process of the edges rounding off a bit occur naturally.)

Strictly for cash games, full face value. . . in my dreams (I'm no Mr. Meaner, unfortunately).
In reality, yes, you guessed it, the $1s and possibly the $5s are for cash games, and the $5 thru $1000 are for tournaments as well as for "divide-by-100" cash games. I also may try to sell off a set of 500 if it turns out I don't really need so many chips. . . What did he just say?

Just wanted to let you all know that I never received an e-mail from Nugzy with a tracking number or anything like that, but I DID receive my chips. And that's the MOST important thing.
My advice to those of you who have not heard anything from Nugzy yet: have faith and patience, my friends. I'm sure he's working his heart out to get everyone's chips packaged and shipped. He did a great job of packing mine (bubble wrap, newspapers, and original cardboard chip boxes) so I'm sure that's what taking up most of his time.
I was starting to worry myself, but this guy is the real deal and fuly legit. I have faith in him. You'll get them very soon...

I'm not exactly sure when my ships were actually sent, but I received them yesterday (Monday, 4/18/2005). My payment to Nugzy cleared 3/21/2005 via PayPal. I know, I know...nearly a month, but keep in mind I am also in Sourthern California, and he's somewhere in Florida.

Well, it happened again. My lung collapsed. Ive been in a hospital for a while with a tube inserted in my chest to reinflate my lung. Its called a spontaneous pneumothorax. I have a history of this, its happened about 6-7 times within the last 12 months. I am really sorry for the lack of updates. I am contacting people now who have not yet received chips. I will not be posting again for a while because I have to go back to the hospital to get surgery to fix the problem. Recovery time is about 6 weeks, with 1-2 of those weeks spent in the hospital. I am terribly sorry for any inconvience Ive caused anyone. Sorry if this note is incoherent, I am not in the best shape right now.

per nugzy, he didn't get comp'd from 888.com. so, he refunded the amount i bought in for. so, no jb paulsons for me... hopefully, those of you that haven't received your chips either, i hope nugzy will be able to complete your order rather than a refund. did any of you receive notice that your chips are being sent or did you get refunded too?
guess i'm off to TP's pharoah's group buy. but, it looks like i'm gonna have to play the looooooooong waiting game again since the "mold" issue has been delayed again until may.

clbg. If you were up to it, I believe that you could get together another order of 5000 by heading up a group buy...post about it on here, 2+2, chiptalk, 21ace, and all of the other poker forums and I think you could do it.

What ChkDeezNutz said was in the back of my mind because I remember seeing Nugzy's name on the top of the forum quite often, then all of a sudden not at all for a week or so.
Seriously, thanks again Nugzy for organizing the buy and with the chips....I love the chips and appreciate all of your work. I hope your pain goes away, or at least gets better, and that you do not have any further complications.
By the way, did the affiliate thing end up working good?? (I opted not to do that, just wondering because I know you said there was a chance of you getting screwed.).
