Very entertaining. I knew Caro was a crazy guy, but I didn't know he was that nuts.

Sklansky folds AK to a relatively small raise....could you have laid that down? TJ has AQ suited.

I fell off the couch when he laid that down! Shocked I couldn't believe that! I was very disappointed to see Doyle lose like that! Even though he had a 10 to 1 chip lead... I still don't know why you go all-in with 9-3o? Confused
Sklansky sure did catch the cards heads up... didn't he. I thought that table was a lot of fun to watch! Boy ol' Doyle sure had Phil steamin' . Laughing I desperatly wanna see Doyle win some sort of Tourney before he's done. It's not gonna get any easier.

Finally a WPT event where the poker was the hilight of the night. Kind of hard to believe how strong these guys played when the prize they were playing for was relatively worthless to them.

It looked to me like Doyle was content once he got into second place, no doubt because busting Phil was his primary goal. He just didn't seem that interested in beating David. Speaking of David, talk about night in day in terms of his live personality and his online personality. Extremely nice guy the whole tournament; total jackass on the twoplustwo.com forums.

I think that's exactly why they played so aggressive(if that's what you meant by strong). They had nothing to lose, not out of pocket anyway.

They all got advertising and promotion for their books and the WPT footed the bill. Plus a chance to win a 25k entry into the WPT main event. Pretty good freeroll for those guys.

The best part of the whole show was Phil talking about his book.

"I classify players into 4 types of animals which everybody fits into. Then you have a 5th type, the Eagle, which is me." I was dying!

Pretty enjoyable all together show. Always like the opportunity to see Shana, and she looked smoking in that red dress.

Interesting that Mike went out first, but didnt really get cards to play with.

It did look like Doyle just kind of gave up at the end going all in with nothing time and time again. I'd like to know how much they edited out there.

I agree that I can't explain Sklansky laying down AK. Was it just me, but was he off by like 5% or more just about every time they asked him the odds?

Shana....yummy!

Sklansky odd calcs....I dont know if he was off or if they use the exposed cards from other players hands for the WPT calcs. It seems like sometimes they do and sometimes they dont. A few hands where someone mucked and ace they used the mucked card as an out and other times they didnt count it.

I really loved that episode myself! Yes, I want to take Shana home too.

I loved the oohs and ahhs that everyone gave when Caro folded 10s.

I think the AK fold by Sklansky was a surprise, but still something you could expect. I think Sexton or Van Patten was saying that if he called that big bet, he'd be out of position, and if an ace didn't fall on the flop, he'd have to check it to TJ, who'll probably bet it when he misses. Well, actually, I'm not so sure if TJ would bet the hand. I know he'd check it if he was in front though. (Hey, I was reading TJ's book at the airport.) The AK laywdown in front is actually a debate on some other forums. I think I've read that Daniel Negranu would drop the hand if sitting in early position. I also think this AK laydown is an exercise in limit hold 'em, if I remember the article correctly. Let's also not forget that AK is one of the most difficult hands to play once the flop is shown. Do you check or bet if you miss? (This also has to do with position.)

Actually, TJ was in the blind and Sklansky was UTG. So, for TJ to re-raise Sklansky's raise UTG he put TJ on a monster. That is why he knew TJ would bet regardless of the pot and he would be forced to lay down unless an A or K came on the flop.

It was pretty much all in or fold, and he didnt want to risk his tourney there.

Great points...and if Sklansky thought that "monster" may have been either KK or AA, he may have thinking that some of his outs were in TJs hand.
