Can anyone help with this 'un?
When hosting a multitable tournament what the general guidelines regarding moving people round when the numbers start reducing.
For arguments sake:
You have 5 tables of 6 people and numbers start diminishing on each of the tables so you want to put everyone on 4 tables instead of the 5. Who do you decide who goes where? Does it matter? Do you tend to mix it up based on stack sizes?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I would advise, when moving players, to try to seat them as close to the same position as they are at their old table.
For instance, say you have two tables remaining.
Table 1: 6 players.
Table 2: 7 players.
Now, on table 1, the player on the SB goes all in and busts out, so his seat would be on the button next hand. Therefore, take the player from seat 2 who is on the SB or the button (roughly) and move them to the eliminated player's seat.
There's a bunch of info for hosting tournaments on the site http://www.homepokertourney.com so you might want to check that out.

The home game I play at we just make it simple. We start with tables of 6 and when they get down to three they combined with another table that is down to three (or wait until another table is down to three)
This is not the correct way to do it but we have sort of a party, everyone having fun tournament (all friends) and it seems to work. This way you don' t have to worry about anyone being the tournment director or anything.
