Built this last weekend. The color is a
bit off from the overhead light but
you get the idea.

Nice job on the table! What did you use for the playing surface?

Thanks Nate, its Titian 21oz billiard felt. I had thought about using true Simonis but it’s a little more expensive and the Titian is dipped in Teflon so water/spills just bead up on it. It feels great.

Thanks Stevcha, I ended up going with this
160x$5
170x$25
120x100
40x$500
10x$1000
I tried to make this set as versatile as possible and cover the chips needed for $1000-$5000 buy in based on the scale found at the link below under "Tournament Style Game". You would actually need 554 chips to do it right (extras being $25 for total of 224) -- assuming you figure 8 people at the table but I could only afford 500 at this point I did the best I could because I also wanted a few $1000's for color-ups. Eventually this will become an 800 piece set to really do everything I will need it to. The other option with this set up is to use the $25 as 25cent, $100 as $1 and still use the $5 as intended then you can also cover a $25 and $50 buy-in cash game (again using the scale at the link). We'll see how it works out.

Thanks. Actually did it in one day. I thought it was going to take much longer but I had help from a friend, that goes a long way.

Are you left handed? It looks like it from the way the cards are spread.

No... But that whole setup was just for show. However, I do shuffle my chips with my left hand most of the time. I think it easier for me that way because I'm a guitar player so I have better dexterity in my left.

That table kicks ass. Did you buy the rail pre made? If not what did you use and how did you get it so perfect? Again great job ,and nice looking chips.

I made the rail myself, thanks for the compliment. There are a lot of good pictures at the first two websites below showing the construction process. If you’re building a table and want some specific help pm me and I will try and go over anything you have questions about. I built this table in one day with a friend so it’s not too hard. If you want a racetrack it could take more time but not more than two full days total. Check the third site for the materials used in the railing and for the foam that goes under the felt.

Thanks alot . Sorry we got off on the wrong foot. As soon as this freakin snow stops in NY I might actually start building my table. Again great looking table. Good luck in your future card games on it.

Sweet setup! Even with small inlays the chips look awesome.
Where'd you get the felt? Also, is it a table or a table top for a dining room table? Looks like nice legs if it's just a poker table. Good job and the rail looks perfect... a day well spent.
Thanks for posting,
Fins

Thanks Fins,
It’s a full table; I use the legs off of an old dinning room table though. The felt came from a local billiards supply (21oz Titian felt). It' pretty nice stuff, 80% wool 20% nylon and dipped in Teflon so spills are not an issue -at-all-. The felt was more expensive than all the other materials put together, worth it though, no doubt!

Thanks. Yeah, that whole deal was a pretty big misunderstanding I think...

I know a website that sells that titan felt, and I am going to use this for my next cover. It would be nice to know how durable this felt is in the long run.
Man those chips are nice. I am stuck between the paulsons or designing my own chips.. Let us know how your first game goes and keep the pics coming!!!
