Paulson Mold Change?

Posted Tue Mar 01, 2005 6:14 pm GMT by Deakon
This is the latest message over at trademark:

Due to a mold improvement requested by our customers, we have been forced to move back the delivery date to April 17th. We apologize for the inconvenience. Standard Stock Chips will be available April 17th, 2005.

Does anyone have any idea what the change is going to be? I am curious if they are talking about the actual mold or the inlay problem.

I just seen this too. A guy over at another forum said he called them and the girl he talked to said something about changing the inlay. Anyone confirm this??

Crying Crying Crying Crying Crying

Regretting my Bond order even before I've received it if indeed the trademark inlay will be larger..... Don't get me wrong I still think the Bonds are still pretty hot but I'm very anxious to see what the change to the trademark Paulsons will look like.

On a side note, any chance that the mini inlays will be "more valueable" in the future due to it's "limited release"?? - - Wishful thinking I know... Laughing

I've emailed trademark to see if I could get a scoop on whats going on. I will relay any info as it comes in.

It sounds like the mold will be larger. By this I mean the ridge on the outside of the chip will be a standard size to accomodate the smaller inlay.

This i the kind of s#@t that pisses me off. Why couldnt they just get it right the first time

for secruity reasons, i think it wouuld be better to own a discontinued set of chips, rather than one that anybody can still currently buy and just 'camel' in to a game.....

Same philosophy for not having casinos useing the 11.5 gram 'dice' style chips...

I keep seeing these types of posts. People worried about other players stealing chips, bringing chips into the game or marking cards. Obviously everyone has a different situation but I don’t and would never play with someone I thought might do something like this. Honestly, if we caught someone, we would probably kick their ass, it’s the principle of it to me.

if they are making a new mold, maybe they'll wise up and just have the outside say "Paulson" rather than "Paulson Chips". Shocked

Now I have to wait another month for my damn tourney set.

GREAT.

Maybe they could just... oh, I dunno... put a FREAKING TOP HAT AND CANE ON THE OUTSIDE!?!?! Novel concept I know. How did these make it past the design stage with the outer edge looking like that? How? I guess this is what happens when a company can't see anything except $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yeah I agree the home Paulson mold is goofy. IMO, the ideal mold would similar to the American mold (with top hats and canes instead of As) or similar to the Martini Club mold (with top hats and canes instead of suits).

Actually, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they were. Maybe you could unload them one day.

hey vai,

do you mean that the border of the chip will be wider, like the bpc clays?

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 7:40 am GMT by vai777
Im pretty sure the mold will be the size of the mold on the old bond chips with the new mold design.

I would think that a set from the very first run of chips after Paulson's much-awaited return to the consumer market ought to have some sort of collector value. And now that the mold is supposedly going to change, this would help to distinguish these first chips from the later runs.

blatantsalespitchLRazzRazzK!!!! Only a few days left in the Paulson JB group buy! Last chance to get in on these "1st Editions"! Get 'em while they're still available!!/blatantsalespitch

Isn't it a joke how they changed the labels to have a "TH&C" background to them? Who ware the morons running this show?

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 6:24 pm GMT by Mr. Meaner
Not sure what you meant Yeltzen, Trademark has had ther artwork up on there site for some time and it has not changed. There artwork has always differed from the James bond chips being the TH&C was background/watermark on the inlay. Had you not seen that previously?? I was told by Trademark that the had a problem with the artwork but it now sounds like they may change the mold instead of the artwork.

I am waiting on the release of chips from trademark for my new cash game set. I like the blue chip being a $10 chip as it fits ito my game better as we play a lot of 5-10 limit games.

Ohhh my bad. I never saw that one before. I thought they were all coming with the JB inlay. Sorry!

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 7:43 pm GMT by showmeyourchips
If they come out with a different mold that actually fits the inlay I'm IN.

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 8:51 pm GMT by Deakon
This is the exact reason why I waited to get on board with the JB version. These chips COULD end up being much better than those and I would much rather wait to see these before shelling out money for the JB's.
