I know you got them from blue chip, and i LOVE them, but how did you get those colors? I thought they only had like 10 or so?

Amazing chips, i'd love to get a set like that some day.

We are selling these poker chips, so im inclined to say No. Go to cardroomsupply.com and buy some if you really like them, they will be up for sale in a couple of days or so.

I guess there are benefits to the (I'm hypothesizing) end of the non-compete betweeen Blue Chip and Paulson. Home release by P, dual edge-spots in non-traditional colors by Blue Chip...

Good stuff.

I am guessing they would do this for anyoone who was ordering enough to make resale a viable option, Look at buypokerchips and nevada jacks

Thanks, I really like these too. Cant wait to get my FREE set.

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 5:40 pm GMT by yeltzen
The design of those chips is just freaking awesome.
My only concern is whether the chip is the same Clamshell chip as the BlueChip JBs. If so, that just kills these.

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 5:47 pm GMT by Nickmast
they look to be the same as the Grand Island and James Bond chips from Bluechip

Then that makes me sad. The feel of those chips is awful. Sad

Blue Chips feel awesome. I thought the gripe with Blue Chips was the inlay being slightly off center on some of the chips. Personally it doesn't bother me. It sorta shows the craft nature of the construction. After all, a chip really is crafted. - The mold is sorta blah... but thats not a deal breaker for me.

My brother-in-law makes his living making and selling custom cowboy boots. Each pair is made by hand only after the buyer has his/her feet measured and traced. It doesn't matter if you buy $500 work boots or $5000 full gator dress boots, no boot will leave his shop until he feels its as perfect as he can make it. That is the nature of hand crafted work, it's not an excuse for putting out a half-assed product. I can't believe we're bastardizing the term just to make an excuse for a company that can't seem to get a freakin inlay centered.

One thing you have to give credit to BC for is speed.

Any clay chip maker takes months to get a chip produced at any quantity.

Blue Chip can crank out 40,000 chips and have them delivered in 6 weeks.
While ASM (highest quality Id say) takes 3-4 months for 1000 chips.

TRKING isnt far off either with thier long lead times and high prices.

Blue Chip is the cheapest, and fastest way to go, kinda like McDonalds.
But you're not getting quality.

Not to hi-jack the thread....

From reading here, I'm aware Blue Chip makes chips for many casino's, private re-sellers (NJ), as well as some of the fantasy sets that are out there. I also believe that Blue Chip can/does cater to the home market, and does do custom orders, but what about to the single customer, who wants a custom clay multi-color edge spot set? They don't have any online site/info that I know of to research this, other than contacting them directly.

I know some other folks have had BC create their chips, with the intent to markup/resell them. I know some folks have had group buys to place orders on a large scale. Again, what about the single customer looking to create a custom set?

I'd be interested to hear from other folks regarding this.

I'm glad your brother does nice work. I was talking about the fact that clay looks like clay and feels like clay because its CLAY and not plastic. As an artist having an inlay a little left of center doesn't give me a headache and keep me up at night so much. thats all. and as for $5000 Cowboy boots, They better Fit!

I don't think you can say that Blue Chip is White Castle, Or MacDonald's, Chinese Plastic is MacDonald's. These are not Lobster from a nice restaurant, They're more like a steak sandwich at a deli. Costom made to order. They are quality. They are extreemly durable, and look good.

DOH. Right.

When I showed a TR King sample to some of my friends, they replied, "Kinda crappy craftsmanship". I'm guessing that was their response that the edge spots were irregularily shaped and there were little flecks of other colors in the main color.

I guess people now-a-days are used to the plastic world we live in. Everything has to be vibrant colors and exact geometric shapes. Smile It's the little imperfections that give hand-crafted things their character. An off-center inlay is a little much though. I have a Blue Chip James Bond sample, and on both sides, the inlay isn't a circle...on one side it's squashed to the right, and on the other it's squashed down.

Posted Fri Mar 04, 2005 11:33 am GMT by yeltzen
The flecks of color on the chip and the messy edgespots never both me. I think they're kinda cool. But the inlay... is it seriously that difficult to corrent this problem? I mean, if it's one or two, I can understand. But it's just about EVERY chip on the Clamshell mold. The NJ mold that Blue Chip makes, the inlays are 100x better than on the Clamshells. There's a few that are a little off center, but NOTHING like on the JBs or Grand Islands.

Blue Chip is indeed McDonalds!

China chips are AMPM and 711 food!

Posted Fri Mar 04, 2005 1:07 pm GMT by ott
I think China chips are food from the Roach Coach.

Posted Fri Mar 04, 2005 1:34 pm GMT by HELO
China = Dumpster diving.

NJ has two molds that he's got the rights on. More power to him. They are *by far* the best molds out there for Blue Chip chips.

Since Paulson has come back into the consumer market, I hope that Blue Chips gets their butt in gear and starts making *quality* consumer chips at CASINO weights...not the lame 'consumer' weights they are doing now.

Hint hint...nudge nudge.

Any of you big Blue Chip dealers want to pass this along???????

Sorry....venting a bit tonight.
