Well, this post is somewhat dedicated to the previous "Coping with Loss" post. Someone had joked how the post was deceptive... looks like someone was crying about the loss of a loved one/family member, but instead it was the typical gripe of losing $50 online instead of the usual $50.
I found myself at the Mirage playing 10/20 with Carson... a somewhat painful night as I'd lost $300! At points, I was back up about $50. (I initially bought in with $500... five stacks of red cheques.) On night number two, I was up $100 and felt confident that I'd get the last $200 back, but then I hit a wall. I ended up losing $450! Geez $750 in a period of 7 hours total in two sessions. That's the 10/20 game. There's only four things that cheered me up.
1. It was mainly money from the 4/8 game, so it wasn't my own personal money I'd worked for.
2. $750 is nearly 38 big bets. In any given night, you can expect to lose or win 10 to 20 big bets. Fifty on a really bad night. I cut my losses, so I just had losing nights.
3. I feel enlightened. Given a proper bankroll, I know I can beat these guys. I'm pretty strong on my reads. (I folded top pair queens with a king kicker against Carson and two other callers. I knew Carson made some kind of play in the back, but the other two players couldve handled me. He had flopped two pair!)
4. A little ha-ha... later in the night on night 2, I was watching Carson and Adam bet it up on the roulette wheel. There, I got picked up by a really cute girl who turned out to be a "part time dancer" who goes by the stage name "London". I drove her home... we'll leave it at that for the forum members. If you're not lucky at cards, you could be lucky at other parts in life.

So . . . 10/20 is the line where chicks start to notice what a slick-ass pro you are? :D
I'll have to work my way up

Yeah, man, they can't look up to you when they see you playing the 2/4 limit game. Especially, whey they're playing the 4/8 table.
