Nearest poker room to Richmond Virginia

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 11:24 am GMT by Soup_dog
I live in Richmond, VA. Can anyone tell me where the nearest legal poker room is? I have a feeling that it's Atlantic City which is over 6 hours away I think.

Check this out..

I'll be there tomorrow. 30-45 people $30 buy in ( includes drinks and munchies ) Every Saturday. Starts at noon.

PLENTY of side game action if you get busted out early.

LMAO. I have been going to these! They are great! I met David through Poker Meetup about 6 months ago. I am currently 15th in the point standings, and thats after missing 4 of the 8 weeks! Now I just need to figure out which player you are. LOL :D

I live outside of Richmond also. The closest, sadly, is AC. I'll be up there next week. However, if you're looking for home games and the occasional tourney, check this out:

I also know quite a few people who have games who don't post on this site. Let me know what kind of limit/buy-in you're interested in and whether you prefer cash games or tourneys.

I went to school at UR, and I used to be able to make the trip home in about 5 hours.

Thanks for the link Beer! I have a couple local games here I can go to, I just thought it would be nice to be able to go a "casino" environment every now and then. IMO nothing can beat that kind of atmosphere. I was just curious how far away I would need to go to find one. Unfortunately it sounds like AC is my closest option. Unlike Sean though, I don't think I could make it in 5 hours! LOL

Sure you can. We went up last fall and made it in just over 5 hours (caught a little traffic in DC). The key is to get through Baltimore and DC during off times like between 10pm and 4am. If you can get through there without much delay the rest of the trip is a breeze. We're taking the junket for the Trop next week. It'll be really nice to fly instead of having to make that drive home when you've not slept for 72 hours.

I'm from Cincinnati I don't know if that is closer or not, but Riseing Sun casino has a poker room, with stud and hold 'em $10/$20 and up to $100/$200.
