Is there any site other than nevadajacks.net that sells these? I'd love to get some, but I have two sets of chips at the moment, so I'm not really willing to pay $1.25 a chip for them. Do any sites similar to 5Star sell them?

Thanks for the on-topic answer.
I mean, they aren't Paulsons, so why on earth would anyone buy them?

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 5:57 pm GMT by vai777
no one else sells them.

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 5:59 pm GMT by yeltzen
Then I shall start saving.

i do agree with alexz0r they dont feel that great and compare to paulsons, its not even close. But if you like the colors and the inlay they are not bad chips. Just a lttle overpriced.

Try calling them up and seeing if they have the $1.10 per chip deal going on. I heard they do from time to time

My only concern is the design; I could really care less about the feel.
Plus, I could never justify buying anything from Paulson.

I've got a small set of these and I love them. If you want what everybody thinks is cool then get paulson's. The colors and mulitiple colors are very nice. If they were a little cheaper I'd get more I am also saving. I'm sure most these cats also have a DELL.

why so anti paulson

Posted Thu Mar 03, 2005 6:39 pm GMT by yeltzen
The fiasco with the new Paulsons pretty much did me in.

Dude....that's easy...want me to solve your dilemna?

First of all...the "new" paulson's coming out in April will be gorgeous...

But I know you hate paulsons.....

Buy PC.com custom clays.....they are CUSTOM and cost less than the NJ clays.

The NJ clays are VERY NICE CHIPS. BOTH the NJ and MC mold are superb. I love the colors.

They get better after use too.

Blue Chip gets a bad rap because of thier quality issues, but in terms of the chip, they are A LOT more durable than Paulsons. Paulson nick and scratch very easily. The colors of the Paulson also rubs on other chips. The color on the Paulsons also runs on itself over time. Blue Chip on the otherhand doesnt not knick as easily and lasts longer. The colors dont rub off onto another chip either.

Granted, Paulson are my favorite chips because of the way they feel and sound, but people just dont give Blue Chip the respect it deserves.

just my opinion

chkdeez how do you know the new paulson will be great no one has seen them yet. Who knows what they are going to do to the mold?

I guess I was lucky enough to buy my set at 1.10 each chip. i didnt realize that they drop the price from time to time. i just thought they decided to bump up the price .15 because so many people are buying chips these days.

i dont think you'll be dissapointed when you buy yours. the only thing negative i would say about them is that the chips dont fill up the entire case. for me i hate it cause i cant tell if im missing a chip or two. so i had to order extras at 1.25 to fill out the rows.

They had a sale in July for .90 a chip.

How many chips did you get? NJ or MC?

Posted Fri Mar 04, 2005 12:10 am GMT by Deakon
.90 a chip! Wish I would have gotten mine then. Hopefully they will do another sale like that again. I need more 25's and 100's. The amount of people at our tournaments keeps increasing and I didn't plan on so many people.

I like the Paulson chips out there, but like PaulsonChips mentioned, colors tend to rub off on each other and themselves. Not a big issue, but something to mention when discussing them and NJ chips. I need a set of chips for some cash games, so I am trying to decide whether to get some NJ Martini's or Paulsons or ASM customs or custom chipco or..........What to do?

I think anyway you go you will be happy. You cant really go wrong with ANY of those choices.

O.K. I'm Paul-o-phobic!

J.K.

I think Paulson makes a great product I believe they are even a tad bit heavier which I like but I really like the colors on the N.J. clays and I like the idea that less people might have them and slip into my game. And sometimes the hype of having paulsons is over the top. I bet if paulson decided to make a different chip color half of you would be complaining and selling and buying just cause they are new. Com-on Just buy what you like and be happy!
The grass will always be greener
His wife will always be better looking
And you will still loose more than win at the game.

"The Crew" On the Poker Tour uses these cheap red white and blue chips and they are on freakin television winning a whole lot of money.

Well, when you lose as much as I do, you need to find solace in something. I just look at the chips and play with them. Although, I never have them very long during the game.

They use Bud Jones composite chips, the same as the new WSOP chips.
One of my favorite chips. They sound like clay but are indestructible.

Thats one set of chips I still do not have in my collection... Crying
