Don't be too grateful about this "sale". It looks like they're going for under $1 sometimes on ebay these days.

there is still over 2 days left in that auction......quote one that actually ended at that price if you want to call out someone's pricing.

It has 27 bids. If the final price is significantly higher, I'm sure it will be pounted out. I just tried to look at ended auctions but eBay wanted a credit card number(??).
At any rate, these things have been "scarce, trust me!!!!!" for as long as I can remember.

From the same sellers other items which have already ended.......
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63760&item=6155760736
$2.39 per chip
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63760&item=6147433245
$4.19 per chip
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63760&item=6139324395
$2.40 per chip
Need i go on?
The item you quoted has 2 days left and already has 27? bids.
I guarantee you that final sale price will not be less than $2 per chip
Also in case you missed the sellers id on ebay..... it's the guy who is offering members of this forum the discounted price. a pretty fricking sweet price that i would be jumping at if it wasn't for the prohibitive shipping costs to the UK
PaulsonChips dude, don't you feel honoured that i use one of my extremely rare Chips, cards & tables posts to defend you? (not that you don't have testimonials up the wazzoo already)
If you're ever in Scotland...... you couldn't see your way clear to bringing me, say...... ohhh i dunno? 500 of those Vineyards ?

I would presume the sale is over because the other members of this forum recognise a good deal when they see one and the chips are now, like the other vineyards, sold out.
Not in any way related to your pathetic posts above so don't flatter yourself.
However, if your posts have in any way hurt this forum or it's members i will presonally push the BAN button on you.
Next time you want to disrespect one of our members with your biting sarcasm, i suggest you don't do it to someone who is actually cutting the members here a real favour.
If you're too much of a dumbass to recognise value when you see it, i suggest you just shut the hell up.

Yes, do go on. The auctions you listed were for the higher denoms. Find one that has 2/3 used $1's.

Paulsonchips sure does have some vigorous defenders. Deservingly, I might add... And Paulsonchips'.... What you got cooking? I cant stand the suspense!

No, tell you what, you go look, i already did enough to satisfy me, you quote a random ebay sale when you are not an ebay member? this will be why you had to supply a cc number, to look at prior sales.
The first item on my list is for a completed "buy it now" sale of 100X$5 chips, this would cost you $2.39 per chip, above they are being offered @ $1.60 per chip. Seems like a pretty good deal to me?
Now, if you do not wish to purchase any of these chips, i suggest you don't, but please quit wasting my time, and p*ssing on someone who is doing a very good deal for members of this forum.

As stated above, only 1/3 of them could be $5 to get the $1.60 price, and you had to buy 600.

Thanks to everyone that made thier posts!
I can work something out w UK shipping,
and Webmaster, if Im ever in Scotland, I will let you know!
Enough with all this back and forth. I started the thread to give the members a deal, that is all. I have been selling these chips for about a year and I know thier value.
The thing with these chips is that when I run out, the prices will go even higher. For some reason people dont buy the chips when I have them, and when Im out, I start getting emails for chips and then people start buying them on Ebay for 3x4 times the price.
When I raised the price of the $20 chips to 2.20 each about 3 months ago, people were getting mad and then when I got lower on supply I raised it to 3.20 a chip. But the more I raised the price the faster they went.
Now they are going for about 10 bucks each online. So my main purpose was to sell these chips at a discount to forum members, so that when I run out they can resell them at a profit to support our chip buying addiction!!!!!!!

That your saying the above offer was equivalent to offering 100 $5 for $1.60 is inaccurate.
Paulsonchips has very skillfully used this forum to make a *killing* selling these chips. Not sure why he stands in need of "shut the hell up" defense. Selling a bunch of chips to forum members behind the scenes at slightly lower prices is a good way of keeping the ebay demand down and prices up. Care to guess what his markup is? 100%, 200%, 300%, 400%?
As a mod, you might consider being a little more even-handed. Paulsonchips has flung his share of arrows too. "Everything at bpc.com is crap and overpriced" comes to mind.

"Keeping the demand down and prices up" I don't know if you have ever taken any economic classes, but that doesnt make too much sense. Demand and prices seems to go hand in hand, so you are not making too much sense.
Me selling the chips in lots like this to forum members hurts me more than it helps because I lose price control. It will be harder to sell my chips on my site at $2 a piece because anyone who buys these chips at a special price and easily sell the SAME product for 1.80-1.90 each. So I dont know how it helps me.
My statements about BPC is just my POV, I have also praised many other retailers. I am retired and I have no interest in boosting other people's business or putting others down.

Yes, I meant "keeping the supply down and prices up".
No comment on the markup?

markups in general are a seller secret, but you have to compare it to the market price.
An 500 chip aluminum case cost the manufacter 2.30 to make. So you think its a deal at 14.99..........

You're not the manufacturer. The retailers pay much more than that.
I commend your finesse with keeping the market price very very high, but I mention it as a counterpoint to the "out of the kindness of my heart" speeches.

What a bunch of cheap whiners. He can sell them for whatever he wants. If the price is too high people wont buy them. DUH. These NEVER go for under $2 each on eBay. $1.60 is if not a great deal, certainly a more than fair one.
ash =o)

Right, since Im not the manufactuer, my cost is a lot higher. Thank you for proving my point. Im am no longer going to post reponses to your comments. Ive had enough of this bickering.
Thank you.

i'm not trying to defend Paulson Chips per se, he is more than capable of defending himself. i just hate it when unfair and/or inaccurate infromation is used to sling arrows at someone. furthermore, how is what Paulson Chips said about another retailer relevant to your point? stick to the issue at hand. an auction with 2 days left to run is almost certainly going to have a significantly higher price when it ends so your comparable is useless.

If you haven't notice, the Vineyard chips sell on ebay like crazy! I am kicking myself for not buying a complete set months ago when the auctions ended for around 500 dollars! I am constantly looking up poker chips on ebay in hopes that one of these times I will stumble across a poorly advertised auction or one where the owner doesn't know what they have, but this truly is a deal that Paulsonchips is offering.
He doesn't have to offer this deal to us, and it is true that I could easily take him up on the offer, and turn around and double or triple the amount in a month or two. If you don't think it is a good deal, then don't click this topic anymore.
Paulsonchips, thanks for the offer and all of the information you provide!

I just recieved my set of 600. And when he says used, he means USED. They are beautiful chips though. Some chips have a blueish green ring around the end, from rubbing agiasnt the other chips. Other than that, these are great chips, and the sound is beuatiful, maybe my poker crowd will approve of these

Including shipping, it appears the final price was $1.53 per chip, and this was for 300, not 600.

I wont stoop to your foul-mouthed tactics and suggest that you are a "dumbass" or that you should "shut the hell up", but I will suggest that you consider looking for a tagline that more closely matches your style of posting.
I'm not an authority on eBay, but I think you can set the "Buy it now" price to whatever you want. Can someone with more eBay experience comment on this?
Posted Mon Mar 07, 2005 7:32 pm GMT by trogdoraoeu
Oh look, there's the same deal with a "Buy It Now" price of $609.99. Surprise.

Yeah you can set it to whatever you want. You can also have a reserve. Meaning you have a set price. If the auction price doesn't reach it, it doesn't sell.

Paulsonchips: How bad are the used chips? I have never bought from you before but I may in the future. Just curious. Thanks.
Posted Mon Mar 07, 2005 7:59 pm GMT by PaulsonChips
I have a picture of the condition of the chips online in the auction. The chips can be cleaned to look like new, the chips are rounded on edges.
no knicks or dings.
