Playing live game tournament 10 people. We start with 300 in chips.
Blinds at this point were 3-6. UTG raises to 25, I reraise to 75, everyone folds and he calls. I have KK at this point.
Flop JQ7 Rainbow. He checks, I bet $150. He calls.
Turn rag. He puts me all in, which was about 100 in chips.
I put him on a high pocket pair, and since JQ were out , he either has a set or AA and has me beat. I called. He shows AA.
Should I have folded? everyone at the table said I made the right play but Im not to sure of that.

Sometimes you are just destined to go broke unless you are lucky enough to put a guy on a hand that has you beat with KK, or the flop brings an Ace and you can get away from it.

Once you put $150 in on the flop you were stuck unless you are positive he has AA or QJ or a set. You bet too much to get away from it really.

It happens.

Hard to say. I might fold here thinking trips or two pair. Was there a flush draw on the board? Often times people will put you all in on just a draw, hoping you will fold scared.

If it's a 250 person tourney, and there are 100 people left, I fold. In a 10 person tourney, I likely make the same call you did. There isn't much time to amass chips in the little Sit n Go's.

I would more likely have put him on trips than AA, but KK is 1 of the hardest hands to put down, especially witha flop like that. To have KK and be up against AA is 1 of those unfortunate situations which happen sometimes. Very difficult to lay this down so wouldn't blame someone too much for losing their stack on it.

I assume he got lucky and hit a set, and then pay him off. This is just one of those ones that even though you "know" you're beat, you simply can't fold.
