Guys that own Martini Club chips... |

This thread is aimed at guys who have more than 100 of these chips and that have had them for more than four months. Sorry, but I don't care about how your 6 sample chips feel after 45 days of being shuffled. I plan on buying 1500- 1800 chips, so I would like to make sure my money is well spent.
I just got my order of 25 Martini Club chips. I wanted a decent amount for a sample.
Now for my question. Do these things stay this slick? They seem to fall all over the place if you don't shuffle them "just right". And if you move them around on the table, the top 4 or 5 chips when stacked 12 high are pretty unstable.
They look awesome! Colors and sound are great. They seem a little light, but I can get over that. If they are going to be this slick after four months of play, I will probably have to go a different route.
On another note, these things seem to be indestructible! My fingers hurt from trying to snap one in half! I had some All-In chips that were very easy to break (I was worried every time I saw someone through chips in the pot that one would flip off the table, hit the floor and snap) and got marked up very bad after only 3 months of use and four 26 person tournaments. They also had a bunch of defects, which is the main reason I had to send them back.
Anyway, how do these things break in after having them for a while?

LuckyStryke has some and so does Riverboat Willie. I think RW posts here but I'm not sure about LS. Might try asking them.

Those are awesome chips, you will love them. GET THEM!
They do stay that "slick" however, they are harder than Paulsons which makes them more durable.

Well, the new Paulson’s' are pretty much my other choice. I am just not a fan of that inlay. If they had the giant inlay, they would already be sitting in my house. The colors and edge spots are pretty nice though.
Let me ask you this...
1. Is it possible to snap a Paulson with your hands?
(I typically play in the garage because I don't want that many people smoking in my house. So I am going to be playing over concrete a lot. That's why I ask this question. Plus, after purposefully trying to snap a Martini Club, I found out it is very hard to do.)
2. Do they stack really well?
(I don't want stacks over 10 falling all over the place)

In all honesty, a chip breaking wont be a problem.
Even the All-ins are fine, in a home game, you dont have to worry about people breaking chips in half!
Paulsons are real sturdy, get some samples, the small inlay doesnt look as bad in person. I got 1000 chipset myself.
The NJ clays will stack 40 high without a problem!

Cool, Thanks for the input guys.

Both Paulsons and Blue Chip only get better the more you handle them. Both are seriously sturdy. If you break either chip, something is seriously wrong with your poker game.
No comment on the All-In's.
Cheers,
John

My NJ clays came out of the envelope today and stuck together like glue. Now after shuffling them all afternoon, they are pretty slick. I dunno if they'll gain the stickiness back with more breaking in or not. Still love the chips.

If you roam through a construction site, you can usually talk to the carpet guys and they can give you some carpet scraps to lay down in your garage.
Also do you have a rail on your poker table? This helps keep stuff from flying off the table.
