I'm interested in collecting some souvenir chips from the casinos in Vegas.
How do you buy chips at the casino/hotels? Can you only buy them at the tables, or can you go elsewhere, such as cash cage or guest services?
Do any casinos have any new unused chips to sell?
Thanks,
Noob.

I have bought them from a waitress and from a Pai Gow poker dealer that was doing nothing. I simply said that I collect $1 chips and asked if they had a decent looking chip that I could buy. I was sure to use please and thank you. They were more than happy to do it. The more expensive way is to go to the craps table and throw down $100. Keep betting the pass line and 6 and 8 using the correct odds (multiples of 6). Eventually you'll have $6 left. Give "the boys" the $5 as a tip and take your collectible home. :D

Just go to the cashiers cage and tell them you want some souviners, Unless the cashier is a being rude they should give you some brand new fresh ones. Most of the ones on the floor are old and nasty with worn edges.

I picked up 100 $1 chips from The Plaza, took them home and gave them a good cleaning. Got rid of all the grime and now they look just about as good as new. For the other chips I got, I just went to the cage and bought a $1 chip from about 12 different casinos. I like the chips from the Plaza, so that is the chip I will probably use for some cash games. They are some pretty nice looking Paulson chips, so it's not too bad for a buck a chip.

Yep, just go to the cage and ask for an uncirculated chip...they usually keep several on hand for folks like us.
