so im playing with about 70 people to start. we are down to about 18 or so. i had just sat a a new table. i get delt K,K. so im waiting to see what happens as the bet/checks go around the table. girl 2 seats away from me calls and raises 400 (blinds were 200/400) (point system, no money involved ). anyways, everyone else folds, i call and raise all in for another 3000 in chips. she calls with out much thought.
so ive got my KK and she has 8,8. so i didnt feel to bad about it.
the flop: 5,6,j. still lookin ok for me. the turn card: 7. ok im a little nervious now but no way is she hitting a 9 or 4 with all the low stuff already out there. the river: you guessed it: 4. so theres my pocket kings worth a shit load of chips and i lose b/c she draws 4 cards to her straight! MEH! man i was frustrated. guess i shouldve see the flop then took her all in but ah well, cant catch em all.

That sucks when you start out in a dominating position and your opponent catches up to you. I'm sorry about your luck. If it makes you feel any better, cowboys have put me out of 6 of the last 11 tournaments I've played (not including online play). They did hold up for me this Saturday to allow me to place in the money in a live MTT, but that's the first time in quite a while. I feel your pain.

I lost 2 races with short-stacked players last night with kings. The 1st had KQ off and called my raise to put them all in and caught a flush. The 2nd had 2 7 off and called my raise to put them all in and caught running 2's on the turn and river for trips. Oh well. I'd have lost both hands even if I'd had aces so I just have to take it as it comes. That's poker.
