I need a new chip case cause mine is falling apart. All the aluminum cases I see online look pretty cheap. There was one I saw earlier today that was aluminum, had a hinge so it would stay open, locks, etc that looked pretty sturdy, but now I can't find it.
Anyone have any recommendations for a well built, strong aluminum chip case? 500 - 1000 chip capacity. Thanks.

See this post for the case that I use (http://www.texasholdem-poker.com/forum/t8978/1600-chip-set-for-sale-discount-for-michiganders. It will hold 1400 chips comfortably or 500-1000 with room for cards and such. The post is for some chips I'm selling but it talks about the case I use.

Yes i have that case too that ^^^^ is talking about. It is made for tools but its perfect for poker chips. It is also cheap i think its 25 bucks at lowes. The only other expense is racks which are like 1.40. Great case.

If you go to 5stardeal.com.....they have the 500 chip aluminum case for $14.95.
I own two of them and they are fine......

I'd rather not use the case with the plastic racks because the chips don't seem like they'd stay in place.
I like the briefase-like style. I just wish they made higher end, more solid versions.

I have a similar case and if you stack the racks two high, the padding inside the lid keeps everything perfectly snug. The chips don't move at all. I got my case at Lowes:

I'm looking for a 500 chip case that doesn't have the place for cards or dice... i just want 10 rows of 50 chips, seems simple but I can't find them.

You'll probably have to customize the interior for the chips, but there is only one name when it comes to a top quality aluminum case. You can probably find something to suit your needs at http://www.zerohalliburton.com/ , but be aware that these US made and they're going to cost a bit more than a cheap Chinese import

A BIT more? Wow, the rolling one is over $600. I liike my chips a lot, but I can't pamper them THAT much, hehe.

How about This Aluminum Case with rollers and a handle? CaptLego did a great review of it. The same company sells a similar, thinner case that I may end up getting.

Edit: I'd been meaning to buy that $49.99 rolling 2000 chip case, and I just did. I'll let everone know what I think when I get it.

One thing I've noticed about the Chinese cases is that they're all made with the same hardware and construction regardless of their intended capacity, hence one could presume that there is no consideration made for the additional stress from the heavier weights of the larger capacity cases. As a means of being able to use these low cost cases, I just use multiple 300 chip cases rather than trying to use the larger capacity cases that seem to fall apart once you put chips into them.

I don't know about the 2000 chip case that you have pictured, but I did see a 1000 chip version like that one with rollers at a local retailer. The case was filled with a 1000 of the dice chips and when you picked it up, the case started to separate from the lid from the weight of the chips.

I'm also looking for something similar...I don't want a case with a spot for cards, dice, or worse, a dealer button. It looks like PC.com has some like that in their standard travel case section, though I have no idea on the quality.

How about this one?
$29, holds 1000, no other slots. Looks more sturdy than the standard alum case.

If I can't find a 500 chip case without the extra spaces then I'll get that 1000 chip case... i have one 1000 chip case already and I like it but it doesn't fit on my shelf
