Most important chip features |

Talk in one of the other threads got me thinking, in order what do you think are the most important chip features/parameter.
Looks (colors, styles, inserts, etc.)
Feel (weight, texture, sound, construction etc.)
Security (relative uniqueness, customization, restricted sales, etc.)
Cost (relative economy per chip)
Obviously some of these things get tied together, but I'm curious what people look for in order of priority.

Looks (if I don't like the looks, I don't care how it feels), then feel.
The other two don't really matter to me unless they're ridiculously expensive.

Actually, I think I even value feel above looks, but that wasn't an option...

Yeah, I seven that (though I voted Looks, feel, security, cost).
I think feel and looks are most important. Then cost has to be in relation to the look & feel -- I'll spend more for Bud Jones or casino Paulsons and think they're a good value, and expect to spend less on Nexgens for the same amount of value.

Probably because I host 4 games a week. I find security to be the #1 issue I need to address. To many chips can be found, bought cheaply and brought into a game and than as the house man you are responsible to pay that out. Any thief that is not overly greedly could sneek 1 or 2 $25 chips into each game and thrash me for $100 or two every week. In the long run they would get caught but how much would they get in the time it takes to catch them.
In a small home game I like everyone else would vote looks first. Yet even when I had a small home game about 8-9 years ago one guy snuck two $25 chips in the game and I had to pay it out being the bank. they got me once but never again. That is when security became my primary concern.
Peace, HTF

Brunson on Security:
Brunson's book: "Poker Wisdom of a Champion".
From a chapter titled: "Getting More Chips than You Bargained For" --
"That's the problem with cheap plastic chips. All a theif needs to do is shop around. Usually he can find the same brand that the poker host is using. After that, it's just a matter of how much he wants to steal... So what's the alternative to inexpensive plastic chips? Buy a specially made set with your initials on them, registered by a reputable company. They will guarantee that the design is reserved for your chips only, so no duplicates will be sold to anyone else. It's a little expensive, but it's worth the money. You shouldn't even consider having a home game without professional-quality chips."
